Senior Product Manager, Sovereign & Hybrid Deployments

Description

The company builds and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites in history and sells the data through a cloud platform to customers in commercial, environmental and humanitarian work.

It is both a space company and a data company, controlling hardware design, manufacturing, data processing and software.

Customers use the data to build new technologies, grow revenue, support research and tackle hard problems.

Staff work remotely around the world and in offices in San Francisco, Washington DC, Germany, Austria, Slovenia and the Netherlands.

The team is extending the platform to serve customers who need dedicated, in-region or on-premises versions of it.

Responsibilities

• Run in-depth discovery with security-focused enterprise and government stakeholders, and use what you learn to set product priorities you can defend.
• Define a phased customer journey from initial installation and joint operations training to handover of fully customer-run environments with no or limited vendor access, including operating models, readiness criteria and governance standards.
• Turn customer operational and security needs into clear technical specifications for the core infrastructure and engineering teams, spotting shared needs that clients describe in different words so duplicate engineering is avoided.
• Design standard building blocks so the core platform can extend into varied edge and air-gapped settings without custom variants for each deployment.
• Set clear limits on what belongs in the core platform and what can be customized, and build hooks and interfaces so Professional Services and partners can add extensions without changing core code.

Requirements

• Have 6+ years of relevant experience in technical product management for enterprise platforms, hybrid cloud deployments or complex infrastructure products.
• Can sit with enterprise or government clients, follow complex operational workflows, and find the root problem behind differing terms.
• Have a track record of productizing cloud-native software for customer-managed infrastructure, enterprise VPCs or air-gapped data centers.
• Understand enterprise hybrid models such as AWS Outposts, Azure Stack, Kubernetes-based distributions like Red Hat OpenShift, or infrastructure automation tools like HashiCorp Terraform and Vault.
• Have set clear boundaries between core platform roadmap items and custom extensions built by Professional Services.
• Can map out complex operational transitions, training milestones and access handoffs with close attention to detail.
• Would make you stand out: prior work with European sovereign cloud frameworks, regional data residency rules, or EU defense and government compliance standards.

Conditions

Full-time hybrid role: work from the Berlin, Haarlem or Ljubljana office 3 days per week.

Expected starting gross salary range for Slovenia: €57.700 - €72.100 EUR.

The role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or equity.

Placement within the salary range is based on gender-neutral criteria such as skills, qualifications and professional experience.
