Description

The company designs, builds and runs the largest fleet of imaging satellites ever flown, and sells the data through a cloud platform to customers in commercial, environmental and humanitarian work.

Customers use that data to build new technologies, grow revenue, support research and tackle hard problems.

The company controls hardware, manufacturing, data processing and software in-house, so the office brings together specialists from many fields.

The team is distributed: people work remotely worldwide and there are offices in San Francisco, Washington DC, Germany, Austria, Slovenia and The Netherlands.

This is a full-time hybrid role in the Global Professional Services team, based in Berlin. You will lead complex projects that help government customers adopt the company Platform and its data products, working across technical and non-technical teams to set project methods and strategy for a portfolio of projects.

The role suits someone interested in civil government and remote sensing applications, who works in a structured way and wants to improve how work gets done so development cycles scale. You will work in a global team, adapt quickly and be open to growth.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Professional Services Engineers, PreSales, Product Management and other teams to design and deliver reliable platform and data solutions.
  • Define project scope, objectives and success metrics with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Turn business and technical requirements into clear, actionable deliverables.
  • Build and manage detailed project schedules, drive delivery of scope, spot and reduce risks early, and track costs and budget.
  • Send regular progress updates to customers and internal stakeholders, covering progress, changes and strategy.
  • Design and put in place processes that support operational excellence and scale.
  • Watch business workflows, find inefficiencies and improve how work is done.
  • Manage subcontractor contracts, including assigning tasks, tracking deliverables and managing budget.
  • Measure project performance and customer satisfaction and use the results to improve future delivery.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of relevant project management experience, including support for proposal development for government or defense customers.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Fluent German and professional working proficiency in English, the company's working language.
  • Experience with remote sensing, EO data or imaging technologies.
  • Experience working with or within the civil government community.
  • Ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects in a technical or product development setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to adjust tone and content for each audience.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities independently and adapt quickly in changing environments.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, balancing daily duties with forward-looking improvements.
  • Nice to have: understanding of platform development, platform integrations or geospatial data-as-a-service offerings.
  • Nice to have: willingness to start initiatives that improve existing programs or create new ones.
  • Nice to have: strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Nice to have: experience working with globally distributed teams.

Conditions

Hybrid work: you will work from the Berlin office 3 days per week.

Full-time contract.

Expected starting gross salary in Germany: €72.990 to €91.260 EUR. Placement within the range is decided objectively using gender-neutral criteria such as skills, qualifications and experience.

The role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or equity, and for commission in addition to the salary range.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and the posting may close early. Deadline: 23:45 CET (11:45 pm) on the date stated in the posting.

The company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records, in line with the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.

The company welcomes applicants who do not match every listed qualification, and aims to represent people from many backgrounds on each team.
