Introduction to the job

In the “Enabling Functions” sector, you may not come into direct contact with our products, but with your expertise you make a significant contribution to ensuring that our company runs smoothly. Only together with colleagues from these structured, high-performing, and supportive departments—such as Human Resources, Accounting, Controlling, IT, and Communications—are we able to grow beyond ourselves and achieve our goals as a company.

Corporate Real Estate (CRE) shapes the buildings and infrastructure of a growing ASML site, creating the foundation for continued growth and high-performing operations.

Role and responsibilities

As a Senior Project Manager, you will:

Lead highly complex construction, renovation, infrastructure, and demolition projects in a high-tech industrial environment with significant investment volumes and strategic business impact.

Take end-to-end accountability for project scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, compliance, and operational continuity throughout the project lifecycle.

Manage project governance, reporting, forecasting, and executive decision-making processes, ensuring project transparency and management readiness.

Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks at an early stage and drive effective escalation and resolution strategies across multiple stakeholder groups.

Coordinate and direct multidisciplinary project teams, external consultants, contractors, and project service providers to achieve project objectives.

Align cross-functional requirements, dependencies, and decisions with regional and global stakeholders while balancing operational and business priorities.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management standards, governance frameworks, reporting practices, and coaching of project managers within the organization.

Education and experience

Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facility Management, Business Administration, or a comparable technical discipline.

Extensive professional experience leading large-scale construction, refurbishment, or infrastructure projects in industrial or high-tech manufacturing environments.

Proven track record delivering projects that directly support production facilities, manufacturing operations, or critical business infrastructure.

Strong knowledge of technical building systems and utilities, including electrical, mechanical, cleanroom, media supply, and industrial facility systems.

Demonstrated expertise in project controls, cost management, forecasting, scheduling, and project governance within complex organizations.

Advanced proficiency with project planning and management tools such as Microsoft Project and strong command of Microsoft Office applications.

Fluency in English and German, both written and spoken, with experience working in international and matrix-based environments.

Requirements

  • The role requires a high degree of independence, resilience, and strategic thinking in a demanding environment with complex stakeholder structures. Key competencies include:
  • Sound decision-making under significant time and performance pressure, with appropriate consideration of technical, commercial, and operational impacts.
  • Structured and analytical approach to managing complex project environments with multiple dependencies, risks, and stakeholders.
  • Clear and effective communication with senior management, project teams, contractors, and business functions.
  • Strong ownership and results orientation when navigating projects through critical phases and challenging conditions.
  • Strong stakeholder and conflict management capabilities to develop sustainable solutions across differing interests and complex governance structures.
  • Professional credibility, reliability, and technical expertise as a foundation for building strong and sustainable working relationships.
