Description

The company has advanced ophthalmology and microsurgery for over 100 years.

In ophthalmology, its solutions help people keep and improve their sight throughout life. In microsurgery, they allow precise treatment of diseased tissue so that delicate organs keep working well.

Medical staff use this technology to improve patients' lives worldwide, and the company's work directly affects people's health.

This is a global manufacturing change. You will set up and ramp up a new production site while moving work away from existing plants, keeping supply, quality and regulatory compliance intact throughout.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage the full program roadmap, turning strategy into concrete plans, milestones and deliverables.
  • Run the integrated ramp-up of a new site alongside the Site Industrialization Project Lead, bringing together Engineering, Operations, Quality, IT, Regulatory Affairs, HR, Finance and Procurement.
  • Move manufacturing out of current global sites with minimal disruption and no gap in supply.
  • Set up program governance: steering committees, cross-functional meetings, clear RACI, decision rules and escalation routes.
  • Push forward infrastructure, equipment commissioning, capability building, legal entity setup, production licenses and regulatory registrations.
  • Track budget, risks, dependencies and key decisions, start corrective actions, and report clearly to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Natural Sciences, Business Administration or a comparable field.
  • Ideally 10 years or more of professional experience, including proven leadership in operational or shopfloor project or program roles.
  • Proven record in establishing, relocating or transferring manufacturing sites internationally; greenfield or brownfield experience preferred.
  • Hands-on work in manufacturing ramp-ups: equipment commissioning, process qualification, validation, documentation and stabilizing series production.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in regulated manufacturing. Familiarity with ISO 13485, MDR, FDA quality systems, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is highly valued.
  • Fluent English.
  • German and/or Kannada skills, international mobility and flexibility across time zones are an advantage.

Conditions

Work regularly at the ramp-up location, with that presence increasing over time.
