Lead Project Manager

Description

The company is hiring a technical project manager to oversee non-turnkey and equipment-only projects.

The role suits an engineer who combines deep technical knowledge with commercial judgment to deliver strong results for clients.

Responsibilities

• Run small-to-medium-sized projects end to end as a hands-on contributor, with room to grow into leading people.
• Guide technical staff, manage project finances, and make sure delivered solutions fit smoothly into customer operations.
• Take projects from order handover through planning, on-site work, invoicing and final closeout.
• Apply detailed knowledge of gas insulated solutions, air insulated switchgear and generator circuit breakers to resolve hard technical problems.
• Own budgets, margins, sales forecasts, contracts, change orders and claims.
• Deploy field service engineers and oversee subcontractors so customer commitments are met.
• Propose fixes that go beyond standard limits, drawing on internal resources to secure results.
• Keep safety, quality and regulatory compliance at the top of every project.
• Take full ownership of your project portfolio.
• Provide accurate financial and resource forecasts.
• Position field teams to meet and exceed customer expectations through clear coordination.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
• 3-5 years in technical project management; field service, maintenance or commissioning experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of GIS, ASI and GCB equipment.
• Hands-on use of SAP or a similar ERP system, Excel, and current project planning tools.
• Fluent English, with Dutch and/or French proficiency depending on the customer portfolio.
• Skill in customer communication, owning a project, structured follow-up and handling escalations on time.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of working time within Belgium.
• Preferred: PMP or IPMA certification.
• Preferred: experience working with Belgian utility providers and industrial customers.
