Description

The company builds and runs a DevSecOps platform as a service for a Department of Defense customer, and you would help build and maintain it.

You would develop and support several Kubernetes-based platforms that operate at different classification levels, automate how services are deployed, write documentation, and watch the security and performance of the platform and the services on it.

Engineers here take on hard problems for unusual customers and can shape the direction of the software products those customers use.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and maintain critical services in both on-prem and cloud-native architectures.
  • Work with the cybersecurity team to apply current best practices for system hardening and configuration management.
  • Use automation such as infrastructure as code and GitOps so environments can be repeated and provisioned quickly.
  • Deploy and maintain Kubernetes platforms across several environments and classification levels.
  • Support development teams as they onboard onto the platform.
  • Make sure the platform and networks meet DoD policies.
  • Help plan backup and disaster recovery.

Requirements

  • Path 1, Kubernetes: at least 2 years of production experience administering Kubernetes, plus experience deploying and maintaining CNCF products on-prem or in the cloud, and a high school diploma.
  • Path 2, generalist: at least 3 years of relevant production experience administering Linux servers such as RHEL or Ubuntu.
  • Path 2: experience administering Linux client endpoints and running CI/CD automation servers such as GitLab CI or Jenkins.
  • Path 2: experience with traditional Linux authentication services such as LDAP(S), SSSD, Kerberos, or FreeIPA and RHEL IdM.
  • Path 2: hands-on work issuing and managing digital certificates for services, systems, and user accounts.
  • Path 2: experience providing identity management with single sign-on using OpenID Connect (OIDC) or SAML.
  • Path 2: scripting in at least some of Bash, Python, Terraform or OpenTofu, and Ansible.
  • Path 2: at least 2 years administering, or working as a power user on, production hypervisors such as VMware or Proxmox.
  • Path 2: a high school diploma.
  • Both paths: US citizenship and an active Secret security clearance.
  • Desired: a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Desired: experience with CI/CD automation servers such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
  • Desired: experience deploying and maintaining CNCF products on-prem or in the cloud.
  • Desired: scripting in at least some of Bash, Python, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Desired: experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Desired: experience with or familiarity with security scanning tools such as SonarQube, OWASP-DC, Anchore, Claire, OPA, Fortify, Checkmarx, Synk, and OpenSCAP.
