Technical Writer

Description

The company is looking for a technical writer to build and maintain enterprise technology documentation, project plans, and operating procedures that support customer missions.

You will work under general direction to prepare, keep current, and manage systems, programming, and operations documents such as user manuals, reference manuals, SOPs, white papers, and executive briefings. The work depends on regular contact with subject matter experts (SMEs), project managers, and stakeholders, so you can quickly collect research, turn complex technical material into clear, concise deliverables, and write for technical, non-technical, and executive readers.

This role is hybrid, based in Tampa, FL.

Responsibilities

• Write and update systems, programming, and operations documentation, including procedures, methods, user manuals, and reference manuals.
• Support documentation management processes and handle special documentation requests as they come up.
• Help create plans, policies, and procedures for project, program, and technology management.
• Stay in regular contact with SMEs and other stakeholders.
• Respond quickly to requests for answers, research, and information by working closely with SMEs, teammates, management, and stakeholders.
• Produce executive briefings, white papers, SOPs, after action reports (AARs), situation reports (SITREPs), meeting minutes, and project plans.
• Build process flows, architecture diagrams, and presentations in tools such as MS Visio and PowerPoint.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a comparable technical field, or 3 years of equivalent industry experience in place of a degree.
• 4+ years of technical writing and editing experience.
• Experience with the full Microsoft Office suite (2019 or later) and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
• Ability to write clear, concise documents for technical, non-technical, and executive audiences.
• Strong grammar, editing, and writing skills, with close attention to detail.
• Experience writing executive briefings, white papers, SOPs, AARs, SITREPs, meeting minutes, and plans.
• Ability to build presentations in tools such as Visio and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proven ability to develop documents and work with SMEs, stakeholders, and others.

Conditions

Full-time, direct W2 employment in Tampa, FL. Third-party staffing agencies, C2C, and 1099 independent contractors are not considered for this role.

Estimated pay range is $100,000.00 to $130,000.00, depending on experience and technical skill set.
