Technical Editor

Description

The company is a technology and professional services firm that offers consulting and technology solutions to U.S. government, defense, and intelligence clients.

This role supports a live program that provides cybersecurity risk management and assessment to a DoD customer.

As Technical Editor, you will check the quality of every deliverable so it reaches the government on time, and you will create templates, updates, and edits for all contract products.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main reviewer for every product, deliverable, and artifact sent to the government.
• Check that all work meets or exceeds the required quality level.
• Work with stakeholders, task leads, and the PM to resolve deliverable problems as they come up.
• Track deadlines for each deliverable and alert task leads when requirements are outstanding.
• Upload finished deliverables to the correct repository, such as a portal, SharePoint, or RTS, following the PWS.
• Create the Monthly Status Report (MSR) template and share updates through MS Teams.
• Manage version control and documents in SharePoint.
• Attend briefings and meetings when needed.
• Help task leads with whatever they need, when they ask.
• Bring a wide range of technical editing knowledge and skills to the work.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship.
• An active DoD Secret clearance that you keep current.
• A bachelor's degree.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
• 5 years of overall experience in technical writing, review, or editing.
• Familiarity with IT or cybersecurity environments, or both.
• Ability to run quality assurance across all contract deliverables.
• A track record of preparing and presenting technical documents, strategy briefings, and governance materials.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Conditions

Fully remote, based anywhere in the United States.

Occasional travel may be required.

Salary starts at $75,000 per year.

Final pay depends on relevant experience, active clearance level, certifications, technical skills, contract requirements, and overall qualifications.
