This is a hybrid role. You will report to the Austin Technical Center or the company's Global Technical Center at least three days a week, and the business may set a higher number of days.
The business analytics platform engineering team builds the company's analytics platforms on Azure and AWS, giving insight to people across the organisation.
The platforms serve thousands of users who work through self-service tools.
Responsibilities
Build and grow an enterprise-scale analytics platform in three layers: an AI-enabled experience layer for user support and operational insight, a control layer driven by metadata and configuration, and an execution layer driven by infrastructure as code and APIs that supports Power BI, Cognos and Tableau.
Automate user requests from start to finish through Slack integrations.
Design, build and run secure, scalable, reliable analytics platforms on Azure and AWS, using containers to deploy and manage applications.
Administer, manage and operate the Power BI, Tableau and Cognos platforms, including data modelling and report authoring standards.
Write and maintain Terraform infrastructure as code, run GitOps workflows, and set up CI/CD pipelines for platform components and applications.
Build API integrations and extract, transform and load data into Databricks DB SQL.
Run DevSecOps practices, including regular security audits and fixes for vulnerabilities.
Design observability, disaster recovery and high availability so the platform stays reliable.
Manage identity and access, rotate passwords and tokens, and integrate key vaults.
Set up gateway connections to on-premises sources, improving performance and cost efficiency.
Treat the platforms as products, aim for engineering excellence, and raise developer productivity.
Take part in on-call rotations, stay focused on customers, and deliver results when project scope is unclear.
Implement policy as code and compliance as code to automate policy enforcement, keep governance consistent, and meet industry standards and regulations.
Take ownership of project deliverables, drive change, and look for ways to add value to your role.
