Systems Engineer - Technical Data Package Delivery (Principal or Sr. Principal Engineer Level)

Description

The company's Aeronautics Systems group is hiring a Technical Data Package Delivery Systems Engineer at the Principal or Senior Principal level, based in Melbourne, FL, within its Systems Engineering organization.

You will support product lifecycle management work on technical documentation, reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager. Your focus is finding and fixing problems that come up in technical documentation reviews.

The role depends on program funding, and start dates are set once funding is confirmed.

Responsibilities

• Support the Systems Engineering Manager day to day.
• Work with SMEs to check the technical quality of performance requirements and analysis products.
• Write training and best practice documentation.

Requirements

• Hands-on knowledge of Teamcenter and NX, or an equivalent PDM or PLM application.
• Experience with requirements development, requirements verification and engineering production work.
• A working understanding of NX and modeling, plus direct CAD experience.
• Understanding of the Systems Engineering V model.
• Experience reviewing technical documentation.
• Professional or military experience solving a range of technical problems with limited supervision.
• Professional or military experience communicating with peers in a detailed, process-driven way.
• Comfort working collaboratively on a team with other motivated systems engineers.
• Principal Systems Engineer: a bachelor's degree in a STEM field plus 5 years of relevant military or professional experience, or a master's in a STEM field plus 3 years, or a PhD in STEM plus 1 year of relevant military, professional or academic experience.
• Senior Principal Engineer: a bachelor's degree in a STEM field plus 8 years of relevant military or professional experience, or a master's in a STEM field plus 6 years, or a PhD in STEM plus 4 years.
• An active U.S. Government Secret clearance or higher, with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or current enrollment in Continuous Evaluation.
• Ability to obtain and keep a Special Access Program clearance within a timeframe set by business needs.
• Preferred: experience with configuration management and product lifecycle management tools.
• Preferred: strong written and oral communication skills.
• Preferred: strong time management and organizational skills.

Conditions

This role may be filled at Principal Engineer (Level 3) or Senior Principal Engineer (Level 4).

Secret clearance is required before start.

Travel is about 10% of the time.

Benefits

• Primary level base salary range: $98,400.00 to $147,600.00.
• Secondary level base salary range: $122,800.00 to $184,200.00.
• Final base pay depends on the scope of the role and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
