The company is an online gambling business that has operated since 2000. It employs over 10,000 people and serves more than 120 million customers in 26 languages.

The company leads in In-Play betting, with over 1.38 million In-Play sporting events a year, more than 750 concurrent fixtures at peak, and more live sports streams than any other European provider (750,000).

The platform handles over 6 million HTTP requests a day and processes more than 1.5 million bets per hour at peak.

The Infrastructure Systems team runs the full lifecycle of compute and storage platforms behind demanding products. The estate is varied and complex, spanning bare metal, virtualised and containerised Windows and Linux workloads on private and public cloud.

The role centres on making day-to-day operations more efficient and predictable, through cross-functional infrastructure work, business continuity, problem investigation, incident resolution and system builds.

Responsibilities

• Support, maintain, build and manage platforms, systems and storage.
• Work with technology specialists to resolve issues and deliver platform improvements.
• Find opportunities to improve processes and automate work.
• Design and improve system monitoring using current tools and practices.
• Mentor and coach other engineers to share knowledge and skills across the team.
• Provide weekend office support on a rota.
• Take part in the on-call rota for technical escalations.

Requirements

• Strong Linux skills, including Ubuntu or Red Hat derivatives.
• Experience administering Windows Server, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and Failover Clustering.
• Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), including vCenter, vSphere and monitoring tools such as Aria Operations.
• Hands-on work with file, object and block storage, including vendors such as NetApp, Hitachi and Pure.
• A strong drive to automate work using AI, scripting and coding in languages such as PowerShell, Ansible and Python.
• Interest in using AI-powered tools for technical investigation, documentation and agent-based workflows.
• A working understanding of networking, load balancing, enterprise FC storage, tiering and virtualisation.

Conditions

Weekend office support is required on a rota basis.

Out-of-hours on-call support may be required on a rota basis.
