Description

The company treats the digital experience of its employees with the same care it gives external customers. The Platforms Experience team sits inside Workforce Enablement, the RDT group that builds, rolls out and supports employee-facing tools for a global workforce.

The team is newly established and aims to connect fragmented employee platforms into one ecosystem, drive digital maturity, add AI and reduce daily friction for staff.

The company is a healthcare and science business with more than 100,000 employees, focused on preventing, stopping and curing disease.

Responsibilities

  • Own the digital experience across the employee platforms as one connected system, linking business needs with technical delivery.
  • Work with Product Owners, system administrators and developers to turn separate portals into a single synchronized solution.
  • Design solutions that fit product requirements, business priorities and enterprise standards, and listen to end users to shape the user experience.
  • Set and track non-functional requirements and fitness functions, and document and evolve the architecture across the product lifecycle.
  • Keep the vision, roadmap and current landscape up to date, and assess how initiatives affect capabilities, risk and the application landscape.
  • Create conceptual and logical data models for the solution and its interfaces, and define reference architectures and patterns.
  • Make sure architecture decisions are recorded in ADRs and align the work with the architecture community.
  • Explain complex or sensitive information clearly and build agreement among stakeholders.
  • Map employee journeys, define clear navigation, and combine different interfaces into one clean, consistent layout.
  • Enable AI in existing systems to improve their current functions and choose the best environment for the platform ecosystem.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience designing business-driven, standards-based, future-ready solutions within a specific solution context.
  • Experience maintaining the vision, roadmap and current landscape for technical solutions and judging how initiatives affect risk and the application landscape.
  • General knowledge plus in-depth knowledge in one or two technology areas.
  • Skill in building conceptual and logical data models, taxonomies and ontologies for solutions and interfaces.
  • Ability to define and lead reference architectures, patterns, NFRs and fitness functions.
  • Ability to follow external technology trends, judge whether they fit the solution, and run vendor assessments.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, data flows and UI frameworks.
  • Additional qualifications:
  • Strong communication and stakeholder skills, including explaining hard topics and building consensus.
  • Proactive approach to finding ways to add value, improve business processes and existing solutions, and reduce technical debt.
  • Experience using digital analytics and behavior tools, such as Google Analytics or Nexthink, to measure platform adoption, drop-off and user friction.
  • Experience with change management.
  • Experience with digital adoption platforms (DAP).
  • Knowledge of AI foundations and data structure.
  • Genuine interest in improving employees' daily work and the skills to research users and remove digital adoption friction.
  • Understanding of how digital platforms connect in practice, including basic APIs, data flows and unified portal layouts, so the architecture scales and stays sustainable.
