IT Custom Chatbot Solution Architect

Description

The IT supply chain management department needs an experienced architect to keep existing SCM IT solutions running reliably and under sound technical governance, and to help design and build new ones across the domain.

The first solution in scope is the company's custom chatbot, which uses Microsoft Teams as its front end. You will be the technical authority for this solution, responsible for its architectural integrity, scalability and long-term sustainability, and for its platform-agnostic roadmap in line with enterprise architecture standards, governance policies and expected business growth.

The chatbot currently has four core components: operational system integrations, omnichannel capabilities, AI services and the Microsoft Teams front end. You will work with internal teams, external providers, the Application Manager, the Service Manager and the Business Analyst to give architectural direction, shape technical decisions and guide the chatbot's ongoing development. You will also be the main adviser on Microsoft Teams operations and reliability, covering bot availability, authentication handoff and message processing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop the end-to-end architecture of the enterprise chatbot, built on the Microsoft Azure stack.
• Improve the chatbot's Microsoft Teams features, including Bots, Message Extensions, Tab Apps and Adaptive Cards, so users get a reliable experience from start to finish.
• Review, refine and govern integrations with omnichannel platforms and enterprise systems, including Dynamics 365 Omnichannel for customer service and the custom omnichannel middleware connecting ServiceNow, email and portals. This covers routing, escalation paths and multi-channel engagement.
• Oversee the knowledge management and AI architecture together with the AI team. This covers knowledge repositories, Azure AI Search, Azure OpenAI, conversational orchestration, LLM-based responses and RAG solutions, aligned with prompt engineering standards, token optimisation and Responsible AI principles.
• Set and enforce architecture principles, reusable patterns, platforms and frameworks, development standards and security requirements. Promote new technology adoption and mentor teams on architecture best practice.
• Lead architecture reviews, solution assessments and implementation guidance with business, technical, support and vendor teams.
• Assess emerging Azure AI and Microsoft 365 capabilities and recommend those that improve effectiveness, scalability and user experience.
• Provide architecture guidance and support for other custom.NET applications built on Microsoft Azure.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of overall experience, including at least 3 years as a Solution Architect.
• Expert in Microsoft Teams app development: Bots, Message Extensions, Tab Apps and Adaptive Cards.
• Strong architecture experience with the Microsoft Azure AI stack, including the Bot Framework or Agents SDK, Cognitive Services, Azure Functions and proactive notification services.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI and LLM solutions: Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, RAG, conversational orchestration, prompt engineering and token optimisation.
• Skilled in API design and integration with ERP and SCM systems such as SAP S/4 HANA, SAP Ariba, VIM and the Omnichannel Messaging API.
• Experienced in managing technology lifecycles, keeping SDKs, libraries and platform components current with supported Microsoft services and handling deprecations.
• Proven architectural leadership on custom.NET applications on Microsoft Azure, defining principles, patterns, development standards and security requirements, and mentoring technical teams.
• Proven experience managing AI business requirements and coordinating development with technical and business stakeholders.
• Fluent English.

Conditions

Location: Krakow, Lesser Poland, Poland. The role is full time and is not remote.

The role may be filled in more than one location. The final offer depends on candidate location, skills, qualifications and experience, and follows internal pay structures. Pay details for your location will be discussed later if the listed salary does not apply to you.
