Description

Full time, hybrid role on the company team, which is building software for the shipping industry. The team builds applications, distributed systems and real-time models for the company's logistics marketplace, covering the carrier experience, shipper enterprise portals, internal operations tools, and pricing, matching and forecasting engines.

As a fullstack engineer, you will design and build end-to-end systems, from backend services and APIs to the React web interfaces customers use. You will sit between user experience and business logic, working with product, design and other engineering teams to ship reliable, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain scalable, reliable fullstack services and interfaces using technologies such as Go, Java and React.
  • Set the technical direction for systems that span both frontend interfaces and backend distributed services, including architecture decisions.
  • Promote good practice in testing, security, maintainability and deployment pipelines to raise the engineering standard.
  • Work closely with Product, Design and Data Science to define technical scope, weigh trade-offs and deliver complex logistics features.
  • Spot technical debt, scaling bottlenecks and architectural opportunities early, and help shape the platform's long-term technical direction.
  • Diagnose and fix complex issues that span frontend and backend layers in production.

Requirements

  • A BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years working on both backend and frontend systems.
  • Strong coding skills in at least one backend language (Go, Java, Python or C++) and in frontend technologies such as React, TypeScript and HTML/CSS.
  • Experience building scalable microservices and frontend applications that integrate with APIs.
  • A deep understanding of web performance, API design and data modeling.
  • Experience testing across backend and frontend, including unit, integration and end-to-end tests.
  • Nice to have: knowledge of data structures and algorithms, and the practical skill to apply them when implementing solutions.
  • Nice to have: experience with MySQL, SQL Server or Oracle. You need only one of these.
  • Nice to have: a proven record of leading technical projects and mentoring engineers.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with frontend component libraries and design systems.
  • Nice to have: strong product sense and attention to UX quality.
  • Nice to have: knowledge of the logistics and transportation industry.
