Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

The role is a senior QA position covering modern cloud-based and legacy enterprise applications. You will combine test design, manual and exploratory testing, and automation, and you will mentor other testers.

Responsibilities

• Review business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, technical designs, and integrations to find test scenarios, risks, dependencies, and coverage gaps.
• Build and maintain test scenarios, test cases, test data, traceability, and regression suites that cover positive, negative, boundary, exception, integration, and end-to-end flows.
• Run hands-on functional, exploratory, integration, regression, end-to-end, and production validation testing where manual work adds real value.
• Work early in the SDLC with product managers, tech leads, developers, architects, and QA colleagues on requirements, architecture, integrations, risks, and testability.
• Decide what to automate, what to keep manual, and which test layer fits each capability.
• Develop and maintain automated UI, API, integration, and end-to-end tests with Playwright, Selenium, TypeScript, and related tools.
• Build reusable, scalable, maintainable automation frameworks, components, fixtures, utilities, and test data capabilities using sound software engineering practices.
• Test React and micro frontend apps, C and.NET APIs, microservices, and cloud services, along with legacy.NET Framework and ASP.NET applications.
• Add automated tests to CI/CD pipelines and set quality gates and automated feedback for development and deployment.
• Design automation for parallel runs, cross-browser coverage, test data management, environment configuration, retries where suitable, and reliable unattended execution.
• Investigate escaped production defects and recurring issues to find requirement gaps, coverage gaps, automation opportunities, and preventive fixes.
• Use generative AI and code generation tools for requirement analysis, test design, test data, automation code, debugging, defect analysis, documentation, and code review, and check every AI output before relying on it.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software testing or quality engineering, including substantial hands-on automation work.
• Proven ability to analyze requirements on your own and produce thorough, high-quality test scenarios and cases.
• Strong hands-on experience with both manual or exploratory testing and automated testing.
• Experience testing modern applications that use React, APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and strong skills in knowledge sharing, analysis, debugging, problem solving, collaboration, and ownership.
• Experience working in teams and on Agile projects is required.
• Strong hands-on skill with Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, TypeScript or JavaScript, reusable automation frameworks, fixtures, assertions, test data management, parallel execution, and cross-browser testing.
• Strong ability to independently design and run functional, exploratory, regression, integration, negative, boundary, exception, and end-to-end scenarios and cases.
• Strong experience testing REST APIs, JSON over HTTP services, microservices, backend integrations, databases, and asynchronous or event-driven workflows.
• Working knowledge of C,.NET and.NET Core, ASP.NET Core, React, microservices, micro frontends, REST APIs, and legacy.NET Framework and ASP.NET applications.
• Strong SQL and SQL Server skills for test data preparation, backend validation, reconciliation, and defect investigation.
• Ability to build maintainable automation using SOLID principles, object-oriented design, separation of concerns, reusable components, clean code, and suitable design patterns.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, and CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, including automated execution, pipelines, environments, reporting, logging, and troubleshooting.
• Solid knowledge of risk-based testing, test pyramid, shift-left testing, regression strategy, defect management, root-cause analysis, traceability, test coverage, release readiness, and continuous quality improvement.
• Strong ability to use generative AI tools to speed up requirement analysis, test design, automation, test data, debugging, code review, and documentation without weakening engineering judgment or quality.
