Description

The company builds fuel-dispensing equipment, including clean energy systems, payment systems, automatic tank gauging and wet stock management. It is headquartered in Austin, Texas, and has technology development and manufacturing sites in Brazil, China, India, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The software QA team you would join works on proprietary Windows-based applications, embedded systems and related hardware. You would work with Development and Technical Support, and you would need to manage several projects at once with little supervision.

The company is part of a larger industrial group and has been in the fueling industry for generations. Projects are both local and global, and you would be mentored by managers and colleagues who work collaboratively and with integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Run manual test cases exactly as the design and end-user specifications describe.
  • Reproduce issues reported from the field in the lab.
  • Document software defects with precise, repeatable steps.
  • Help verify releases.
  • Take part in verification and validation, including requirement reviews and writing manual test cases.
  • Build and run test plans and cases linked directly to software requirements.
  • Carry out end-to-end testing of web-based, client-server and hardware-integrated applications.
  • Check data with MS-SQL commands and basic queries.
  • Verify API endpoints with tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
  • Work with technical writers on product documentation, including test plans, release notes and field installation and troubleshooting guides.
  • Explain newly launched features to support teams and stakeholders.
  • Keep QA standards and engineering workflows in place by taking part in them.
  • Track test logs and bug metrics in Azure DevOps.
  • Diagnose faults across Windows PCs, single board computers and embedded boards using a logical, step-by-step method.
  • Understand how automated frameworks built on Selenium, Robot Framework, Python and Jenkins run in a continuous deployment setup, though you will not write automation scripts.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computing, engineering or a closely related field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • 2, 4+ years of direct software quality assurance experience with thorough testing methods.
  • A working knowledge of the Software Testing Life Cycle and a grounding in the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Experience supporting testing on Windows platforms, IIS, web services and the.NET Framework, with a basic grasp of networking.
  • Familiarity with test automation concepts and tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Robot Framework and Appium.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including bug descriptions and status updates.
  • A self-motivated approach, with the ability to learn new software, system architectures and test platforms quickly.
  • Preferred: basic knowledge of electronic hardware, electrical circuits and AC/DC components.
  • Preferred: a logical approach to troubleshooting Windows PCs, single board computers and embedded boards.

Conditions

Work is mostly in a standard indoor office, with moderate noise and little or no physical risk.

Occasional travel, sometimes including an overnight stay, may be needed to meet customer needs, with the usual travel and system setup risks.

You will regularly stand, walk, sit, use your hands to handle or feel objects, reach, and talk and listen.

You will regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

The role requires close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay depends on factors such as responsibilities, experience, education and training, location, and key skills for the role.

The company does not ask for payment or personal data outside its official hiring process.

Benefits

  • Pay is part of the total rewards package the company offers to recognise your work.
