Description

The company builds autonomous defence platforms and AI-driven software for NATO Allies and their partners, aiming for systems that work in very demanding environments.

The Mission Simulation team is a small group in Munich. It works with the platform and C2 teams to bring UAVs, surface vessels and EW systems together in high-fidelity Software-in-the-Loop simulators.

These simulators serve three purposes: testing, customer demos and tactical training. The focus is realistic combat, including swarm logic and EW degradation, so developers can find failures early and soldiers can train safely.

The team builds QA processes from the ground up and gives software engineers detailed feedback before any system is used for training or demos.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and configure simulator hardware, including PCs, networking equipment and tactical peripherals such as VR headsets and HOTAS controllers.
  • Test the software in the Mission Simulation environment, for example VBS4 and custom C++ modules, to find bugs, performance problems and tactical inaccuracies.
  • Create QA protocols, test plans and bug-tracking workflows from scratch.
  • Work with software engineers and turn performance issues into clear, actionable technical feedback and bug reports.
  • Check software updates and new releases on the physical setups before they go to customer demos or tactical training.
  • Reproduce complex software and integration bugs in a systematic way so developers can fix them quickly.

Requirements

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science or Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in software QA, system integration or a similar role linking IT hardware and software work.
  • Hands-on experience assembling IT or simulator hardware and configuring Windows and Linux.
  • Proven ability to define QA processes, write structured test plans and run bug-tracking workflows.
  • Strong technical communication, so you can turn user-side bugs into data developers can act on.
  • Familiarity with simulation engines such as VBS4, Unreal or Unity, or complex tactical game environments.
  • Basic scripting in Python or PowerShell to automate repetitive testing or OS configuration tasks.
  • Experience in the defence sector, or solid knowledge of military operations and tactics to judge simulation realism.
  • Fluent English, C1 preferred.
  • German language skills advantageous but not required.

Conditions

Based in Munich.

You must be eligible to obtain and keep the security clearance this role requires, given the defence work. Details follow during recruitment.

Applications from all genders are welcome.

Benefits

  • Your work on the software and systems helps protect personnel and supports European and national sovereignty.
  • You work alongside leading experts on autonomous systems, advanced propulsion and secure cyber platforms.
  • The environment moves quickly and is collaborative, and bold ideas get backing from a serious R&D budget.
