Description

The company builds autonomous defence platforms and AI-driven software for NATO Allies and their partners, designed to operate in demanding environments.

The work centres on multi-domain defence solutions that the company develops, tests in the field, and delivers using engineering talent and an AI-focused way of working.

You would join a team at the centre of the engineering and operations group. Colleagues care about moving complex programmes forward and help each other meet demanding targets.

The role covers software setup, firmware flashing and subsystem integration for the company's UAVs, run on Linux (Ubuntu) tools, so that each aircraft is calibrated and tested before its first flight.

Responsibilities

  • Flash and configure every UAV subsystem, including the flight controller, ESCs, radios and companion computer, and confirm that the buses (Serial, CAN/DroneCAN, I2C) communicate correctly.
  • Carry out full sensor calibrations, set up flight modes, run ESC and motor tests, configure safety failsafes and complete pre-flight checks.
  • Find the cause of integration problems using the Linux command line and system logs, and determine whether the fault lies in software, parameters or hardware and wiring.
  • Follow each unit's status through the assembly pipeline and raise technical blockers early.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with PX4 or ArduPilot, including parameter tuning, firmware flashing and sensor calibration.
  • Comfort working daily with the Linux command line, configuration files and system logs on Ubuntu.
  • Working knowledge of flight controllers, ESCs, GPS, telemetry and the CAN/DroneCAN, Serial and I2C buses.
  • Basic soldering and crimping skills, competence with a multimeter, and strict adherence to LiPo and power safety practices.
  • Experience with automated test frameworks, scripting or tooling used to commission and validate UAVs.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, Git or other version control systems, and software release processes for embedded systems.
  • Eligibility to obtain and keep the security clearance required for the role. Details are given during recruitment.

Conditions

Due to the defence sector nature of the work, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain the security clearance this role requires.

Clearance details will be shared during the recruitment process.

Benefits

  • The software and systems you build help protect personnel and defend European and national sovereignty.
  • You would work with leading specialists on autonomous systems, advanced propulsion and secure cyber platforms.
  • The team works collaboratively and has solid R&D support behind its ambitious ideas.
