Test Engineer

Description

The team is hiring a test engineer for a project in Chantilly, VA, supporting the Apps Team of a government office that collects and shares publicly available information.

The Apps Team is building a scalable, reliable platform that moves today's scattered enrichment work into one standard, central system.

The office needs cloud IT management, workflow automation, IT project management, custom software development, and integration of COTS and GOTS applications.

Requirements

• You hold an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
• You have worked in software testing, preferably on web applications.
• You understand software testing methods, tools, and processes.
• You have hands-on experience testing React and TypeScript applications.
• You have hands-on experience testing Node.js server applications.
• You have experience or proficiency with advanced testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
• You have experience or proficiency with advanced tools such as Mocha, Chai, Supertest, Postman, or Newman.
• You have experience or proficiency with advanced tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, or Katalon Studio.
• You understand version control systems such as Git.
• You have worked with CI/CD pipelines and built automated testing into deployment workflows.
• You have tracked progress across several concurrent, high-visibility projects and requirements.
• Nice to have: strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Nice to have: excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Nice to have: advanced knowledge of containers and testing in Dockerized environments.
• Nice to have: experience with accessibility testing tools such as Axe or Lighthouse.
• Nice to have: experience testing Elasticsearch, including Jest integration for Elasticsearch.
• Nice to have: experience with manual query validation.

Conditions

The role is based in Chantilly, VA.

The pay range for Virginia is $150,000 - $250,000 USD.

Pay depends on factors such as geographic location, federal contract labor category, wage rates, prior experience, skillsets, education, and certifications.
