Senior Developer GMS

Description

The company builds Generation Management System (GMS) software for utilities worldwide, helping them run generation, strengthen grid reliability and adapt to a changing energy sector.

This senior, customer-facing software engineering role combines coding with power systems knowledge. You will work with global engineering and product teams across the project lifecycle, from development and integration to testing, training and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Build, extend and support GMS applications.
• Work directly with utility customers to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Connect GMS applications to EMS, SCADA and other operational technologies.
• Lead software testing, validation, troubleshooting and customer acceptance.
• Work with engineering and product management on new ideas.
• Help with solution design, project execution and proposal development.
• Apply Agile methods, advanced analytics and AI-driven tools to improve grid operations and performance.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, power systems engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in software development, application engineering or similar technical work.
• Hands-on experience developing software in C, C++, and/or FORTRAN.
• Strong customer engagement, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with complex technical systems and software applications.
• Preferred: knowledge of utility operations and technologies such as EMS, SCADA, GMS, ADMS, DMS, AGC, Economic Dispatch, State Estimation, AI/ML or optimization tools.
