CAD PLM Developer

Description

The role sits across the technical design and operational functions and helps keep the company at the leading edge of design and engineering.

The aim is to give designers as much time as possible for design work and to cut unproductive or pointless activity.

Responsibilities

• Give daily support to the design and engineering functions.
• Improve design processes within the PLM, CAD, CAM and CAE systems.
• Find, track and run process improvement measures.
• Lead improvements from gathering requirements through to testing and rollout.
• Build and support custom CAx automations on the client side, the server side or both, as needed.
• Develop and maintain the existing codebase.
• Expand unit tests, use cases and quality work for features already in use.
• Help users when asked.
• Write and publish how-to guides when needed.
• Run end user training on relevant subjects.
• Raise and manage service requests with software suppliers where appropriate.

Requirements

• Essential: Deep knowledge of CATIA and 3DExperience.
• Essential: Skilled in VBA and Python for working with CATIA and or 3DExperience.
• Essential: Experience in software development, design and methodologies.
• Essential: Version control and distribution with tools such as GitLab and GitHub.
• Essential: Customer support experience.
• Essential: Eagerness to learn and grow related skills.
• Preferable: JPO development in a 3DExperience environment.
• Preferable: Web services scripting, development and interrogation, including testing with tools such as Postman.
• Preferable: Exposure to proprietary languages such as EKL.
• Preferable: Aerodynamic surfacing and CFD knowledge.
• Preferable: Mechanical and composite design knowledge.
• Works well in a team and engages with people at every level.
• Earns respect, shows initiative and influences others.
• Communicates well, listening, explaining and articulating clearly and always professionally.
• Handles several projects at once and changes priorities as business requirements shift.
• Manages time and priorities well, takes corrective action and builds in contingency.

Conditions

Based in Woking.

Occasional travel is required.

Standard working hours, with flexibility to work extra hours as and when needed.
