Description

The company is a global provider of wealth management, asset servicing, asset management and banking services, serving individuals, families, corporations and institutions around the world.

Founded in 1889, the company has more than 135 years of financial experience, over 24,000 employees, and uses leading technology to serve demanding clients.

This senior role centres on designing, building and supporting scalable DevOps capabilities on the ServiceNow platform, pairing hands-on ServiceNow development with modern DevOps engineering to automate software delivery, raise release quality, tighten platform governance and connect ServiceNow with enterprise development toolchains.

The ideal hire has at least 5 years of experience as a hands-on senior engineer, turns complex business and technical needs into secure, maintainable solutions, and works closely with application, platform engineering, architecture, security and operations teams.

Movement between roles is encouraged and senior leaders are accessible.

Success in this role means more reliable, repeatable ServiceNow deployments, less manual work across the development-to-production lifecycle, fewer production defects, faster fixes for pipeline and integration failures, more automated testing and release controls, strong adherence to architecture, security and development standards, and effective technical leadership across ServiceNow teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, configure, test and support enterprise solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Write server-side and client-side code using JavaScript and Glide APIs, along with Script Includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer and IntegrationHub.
  • Build and maintain REST and SOAP APIs, scripted REST services, webhooks and integration patterns.
  • Create reusable components and automation, keeping customization to a minimum so the platform stays upgradeable.
  • Troubleshoot issues, run root-cause analysis, fix defects and provide production support.
  • Design and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for ServiceNow development and deployment.
  • Connect ServiceNow to source-control and DevOps tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, GitLab or Jenkins.
  • Automate builds, testing, validation, change management, deployment and post-deployment checks.
  • Set up source-control, branching, code-review and promotion practices across ServiceNow environments.
  • Make deployments more reliable with automated tests, quality gates, rollback and recovery plans, and release controls.
  • Diagnose failures in pipelines, authentication, webhooks, tokens, APIs and integrations.
  • Make sure solutions meet ServiceNow development standards, enterprise architecture, security requirements and governance.
  • Review code and give technical guidance to ServiceNow developers and engineering teams.
  • Find technical debt and replace custom builds with suitable out-of-the-box platform features where possible.
  • Take part in upgrade planning, regression testing, release readiness and platform health work.
  • Support secure handling of credentials, OAuth, API authentication and integration patterns.
  • Lead technical design discussions and turn business requirements into buildable ServiceNow solutions.
  • Coach developers on ServiceNow engineering and DevOps best practices.
  • Work with application, infrastructure, security, architecture, operations and vendor teams.
  • Write technical documentation, implementation plans, operating procedures and troubleshooting guides.
  • Drive continuous improvement in development speed, deployment quality, platform stability and engineering practice.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience in a large enterprise.
  • Advanced JavaScript skills and deep knowledge of ServiceNow development frameworks and APIs.
  • Solid experience implementing and supporting REST APIs, integrations, webhooks, OAuth and authentication mechanisms.
  • Experience with CI/CD technologies such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience with source control, automated deployment, testing and release management.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across ServiceNow applications, integrations, APIs and deployment pipelines.
  • Understanding of enterprise security, SDLC, change management and production support practices.
  • Ability to lead technical problem solving across several engineering teams.
  • Preferred: experience with ServiceNow DevOps, IntegrationHub, Flow Designer, Automated Test Framework (ATF), GitHub, Azure DevOps and ServiceNow APIs.
  • Preferred: experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise CI/CD and software development ecosystems.
  • Preferred: familiarity with ITSM, CMDB, ITOM, Change Management, Incident Management and Problem Management.
  • Preferred: experience supporting ServiceNow upgrades and complex production releases.
  • Preferred: knowledge of cloud and infrastructure technologies such as Azure or AWS.
  • Preferred: experience working in Agile or Scrum engineering environments.
  • Preferred: ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Application Developer (CAD) or a relevant Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) credential.
  • Core competencies include ServiceNow development, DevOps and CI/CD engineering, JavaScript, REST API and integration engineering, Git and source control, release automation, production troubleshooting, platform security, technical architecture, root-cause analysis, code review and engineering standards, and cross-functional technical leadership.
