Description

The company builds an enterprise AI platform, and this hands-on engineering role helps build, improve, test, and support production-ready platform features. These features let teams across the company use generative AI safely and effectively.

You will work with senior engineers, product owners, architects, security partners, data teams, and business stakeholders to ship dependable platform features, make the developer experience better, support integration approaches, and help build governed AI solutions for scientific, clinical, commercial, and operational groups.

Responsibilities

  • Build, test, and maintain platform capabilities such as APIs, backend services, user-facing workflows, automation scripts, and integration components for enterprise generative AI use cases.
  • Help create reusable engineering patterns for prompt management, retrieval-augmented generation, model routing, evaluation, observability, and secure access to enterprise data and tools.
  • Gather requirements with product owners, senior engineers, architects, and business stakeholders, clarify what users need, estimate effort, and deliver solutions that are practical and easy to maintain.
  • Help teams onboard to and adopt the AI platform by troubleshooting their issues, explaining platform guidance, improving documentation, and applying approved development patterns.
  • Support quality work, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing, fixing defects, and producing the validation evidence required in controlled enterprise environments.
  • Help run production platform services by watching reliability, investigating incidents, closing support tickets, and finding ways to simplify or automate recurring support work.
  • Follow company standards for secure software delivery, responsible AI, privacy, GxP, data protection, change management, and the software development lifecycle.
  • Share progress, risks, tradeoffs, and technical findings clearly, escalate problems when needed, and help build a collaborative engineering culture.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant technical experience, or a master's degree with 4 years of relevant technical experience; degrees in software engineering, data engineering, AI/ML engineering, or platform engineering are preferably held.
  • Hands-on experience building or supporting software applications, APIs, cloud-based services, data pipelines, automation, or AI/ML-enabled solutions.
  • Working knowledge of modern development practices such as source control, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, documentation, and agile delivery.
  • Experience with one or more languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or similar. Familiarity with cloud platforms, containers, APIs, or enterprise integration patterns is preferred.
  • Interest in generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, model evaluation, or AI platform tooling. Direct enterprise AI experience is preferred.
  • Ability to learn fast, work through ambiguous technical problems, collaborate across teams, and explain technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Conditions

This is a hybrid role.

Applies only to positions in locations with pay disclosure requirements under state or local law: the base pay range is the company's good-faith estimate for this grade at posting. Actual pay depends on factors such as geographic location and may fall above or below the range, and the range may change.

The role is eligible for the company's short-term incentive programs.

Only US and Puerto Rico applicants are eligible.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on protected characteristics, including veteran and disability status.

Benefits

  • A broad benefits package for eligible employees, including paid vacation, holidays, and sick time, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and a 401(k).
  • Eligibility for short-term incentive pay. Any bonus, commission, incentive, or benefit is at the company's sole discretion until paid, and the company may change these at its discretion, consistent with applicable law.
