Project Engineer - Energy Management Systems (EMS)

Description

The company builds energy management system software for grid operators.

You will own end-to-end delivery of grid-critical EMS projects, covering technical execution, system stability and integration into the customer's control room.

You will work in a team that delivers EMS projects essential to grid resilience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the most critical EMS implementations and set the plan for each project lifecycle.
• Connect R&D with grid operators by turning real utility problems into input for the product roadmap.
• Run the go-live handover to the maintenance and support group, including full training on EMS operations.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of real-time grid applications and the resilience that high-availability energy systems need.
• Solid knowledge of EMS platform architecture, including real-time data modeling, high-availability design and database management.
• Experience building QA frameworks for high-availability, mission-critical energy software.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams in a matrixed, global organization and align technical limits with business goals.
• Track record of moving legacy systems to modern ones while balancing customer-specific needs against platform standardization.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, computer science or any STEM field.
• 5+ years delivering complex, mission-critical software (EMS or SCADA) for T&D utilities.
• 3 years owning a deployment lifecycle within a matrix structure.
• Desired: clear verbal and written communication.
• Desired: skill at breaking down and fixing problems.

Conditions

Travel is expected to be less than 20%, domestic or global.

For U.S.-based candidates, the pay range is $119,600.00 to $179,400.00, with a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas, and pay depends on experience, education and skill set.
