Description

The company develops memory and storage products, and this role focuses on its data center SSD portfolio.

You will act as the link between customers, engineering, architecture and business teams, taking product requirements from early concept to launch and deployment.

You will turn market needs, industry standards, new technologies and customer demands into product strategy, so the role calls for hands-on technical knowledge, long-range planning and the ability to lead across functions on complex product decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main technical contact for hyperscale and OEM customer engineering leaders, sharing the data center SSD roadmap, architecture, qualification plans and product direction while building lasting, trusted partnerships.
  • Collect and convert customer inputs, such as specifications, RFIs and RFQs, platform constraints, qualification needs and escalations, into product requirements (MRDs), engineering decisions and customer transition plans that keep EVT, DVT and PVT on schedule.
  • Own the requirements and technical strategy for one or more SSD product lines from concept through qualification and volume ramp, making tradeoffs across NAND, controller/ASIC, firmware and system interfaces to balance performance, cost, schedule and customer commitments.
  • Represent the company in industry ecosystem and standards groups such as PCIe-SIG, OCP and JEDEC, helping shape specifications that fit the company's product direction.
  • Align ASIC, firmware and systems engineering teams around priorities set by customers and the market, and make the call when priorities conflict.
  • Work with sales, segment leadership, NPI, Business Operations and Technical Customer Management and FAE teams on account strategy, volume forecasts, positioning, customer commitments, supply plans and qualification milestones, so commercial plans match technical reality.
  • Brief executives and cross-functional leaders on program status, risks and recommendations, speaking clearly and credibly on complex technical and customer topics.
  • Drive innovation through invention disclosures, new architecture approaches and process and tooling improvements, mentor product managers and technical program managers, and use AI to work more efficiently.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in product management, systems or product engineering, or technical program management within SSD, storage or semiconductor industries.
  • Strong technical grounding in NAND flash, SSD controller and ASIC architecture, PCIe and NVMe protocols, and firmware and system-level interactions.
  • Direct experience working with hyperscale or enterprise customers on technical requirements, qualification and platform integration.
  • A record of leading cross-functional work and influencing engineering, sales and executive stakeholders without direct authority over them.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, adjusting technical depth for audiences from silicon engineers to executives and customer leaders.
  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
