Description

The company has run payments and commerce for more than 25 years and operates in about 200 markets. Its two-sided network connects hundreds of millions of merchants and consumers, with proprietary payment solutions alongside third-party networks.

This role leads the data pillar of the risk decisioning platform, which makes real-time fraud, credit, and compliance decisions and handles very large signal volumes in milliseconds. The pillar covers how internal and external data reaches those decisions: vendor and identity integrations, upstream and downstream flows, analytical data, and governance.

You will work with engineering, data science, risk strategy, and governance teams. The role suits someone with a solid technical base in scaled data platforms and data engineering, and with reach across fraud, credit, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional partners to shape product strategy that fits the shared vision for the product or platform.
  • Turn measurable outcomes into clear, grounded specifications, and own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery for the data pillar.
  • Set the architecture roadmap so it balances design innovation and technical delivery against regulation, time to market, customer needs, and profitability.
  • Keep the customer experience and customer needs central to product requirements and decisions.
  • Track success metrics such as usability studies, research, and market analysis.
  • Lead workstreams in analytics, customer discovery, market research, and competitive analysis to guide data-driven choices.
  • Monitor product profitability, including budget.
  • Take part in product reviews, operating reviews, and business reviews, and brief product and technology leaders as needed.
  • Lead product reviews and steering committee updates as the subject matter expert.
  • Work with content developers, data scientists, product designers, and UX researchers.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Preferred: experience building or managing data platform products in decisioning, risk, or real-time scoring, including data integration, pipelines, or analytical data layers.
  • Preferred: experience integrating external data vendors, such as identity, bureau, or alternative data, and managing upstream and downstream flows across streaming and batch systems.
  • Preferred: working knowledge of data engineering practice and of data governance in regulated settings, including data contracts, quality SLAs, lineage, access controls, and privacy.
  • Preferred: strong data judgment, including defining and reading data health and usage metrics, running analyses, and turning findings into product decisions.
  • Preferred: experience delivering agile work at scale, including legacy pipeline migration, managing dependencies across teams, and running milestone-based roadmaps.

Conditions

Base pay depends on location, experience, and expertise. In San Jose, California, the range is $176,500.00 to $262,350.00 per year. In Chicago, Illinois, and Austin, Texas, the range is $160,500.00 to $238,700.00 per year.

Additional compensation may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentives, where applicable.

Benefits

  • Choice-based programs covering physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing.
