Description

The company has run a global payments platform for more than 25 years, serving consumers and businesses in about 200 markets.

Its two-sided network connects hundreds of millions of merchants and consumers, online and in person.

This is a commercially focused leadership role rather than a traditional brand marketing job. The goal is measurable growth, better use of marketing spend, and a stronger loop between consumers and merchants.

You will cover Germany, Austria and Switzerland, work as a senior member of the German country leadership team, and partner with corporate, global and North America leaders as well as regional Sales, Product, Finance, Analytics, Partnerships and Marketing teams.

Success means a focused DACH strategy, better marketing efficiency and return on investment, growth on both sides of the network, and a team of commercially minded marketers.

Responsibilities

  • Build the DACH market plan, with annual and quarterly integrated plans that fit business priorities and global strategy.
  • Turn global strategy into local execution, balancing company-wide consistency with what the DACH market needs.
  • Own budgets, forecasts, investment priorities and performance reviews across the DACH marketing portfolio.
  • Run integrated campaigns across the full funnel, from demand creation to acquisition, engagement and conversion.
  • Shape customer and partner marketing that drives measurable commercial growth, including co-marketing with Sales and stronger partner value propositions.
  • Work with growth marketing to capture demand, lift conversion and speed up results.
  • Set measurement frameworks and improve marketing return on investment.
  • Use flywheel economics to judge how marketing spend creates value on both sides of the network.
  • Drive growth in market share, acquisition, engagement, retention and conversion.
  • Share DACH insights with global teams and bring relevant global learnings back to the market.
  • Set the vision and strategy for the marketing function, align it with company-wide strategy and operations, and push continuous improvement.
  • Influence executive decisions on marketing, and track market trends and competitors to inform strategy.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the DACH marketing team, including consumer marketing.
  • Work across Product, Finance, Analytics, Partnerships, Operations, Brand and regional teams to deliver execution.

Requirements

  • At least 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Significant leadership experience in integrated, commercial, growth, consumer, fintech, payments, platform, marketplace or similarly complex marketing settings.
  • Deep understanding of two-sided network businesses and the consumer fintech landscape, plus flywheel economics applied to marketing and business decisions.
  • Analytical, with strong experience in MROI, performance measurement and data-driven optimization.
  • Solid financial judgment, including budget management, forecasting, resource allocation and business cases.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of markets, products, partners or growth initiatives.
  • Full-funnel marketing experience across online and offline channels, including integrated campaigns tied to business outcomes.
  • Experience in partner marketing and working closely with Sales on commercial opportunities.
  • Ability to operate across global and local settings, turning enterprise strategy into market-relevant action.
  • Proven track record working with senior corporate, global, North America and regional leaders.
  • Strong cross-functional skills, able to bring together teams with different priorities.
  • Able to handle complex, ambiguous issues, make clear decisions and drive resolution.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Results-driven and accountable, motivated by measurable business impact.
