Insights Analyst, Social Listening

Description

The company's North America team combines creatives, producers, data analysts and social experts to build ideas that run across formats, from social posts to TV.

The team responds to trends and events as they happen, with the aim of earning media impressions and getting the country talking.

This is an Insights Analyst role focused on social listening. You will turn raw conversation data into insights the wider team can act on.

Responsibilities

• Run and maintain listening scans on brand, campaign and newsroom topics.
• Turn volume, sentiment, themes and emerging conversations into clear takeaways: what is happening, why it matters and what to watch next.
• Find patterns across culture and spot the spaces and moments where the brand can credibly take part.
• Help answer briefs from Strategy by bringing listening and cultural signals into the work, and partner with Strategy and Creative on how those signals shape briefs and creative decisions.
• Own the listening part of briefs, decide where listening can give useful answers, set realistic expectations on what the tools can and cannot do, and help stakeholders scope requests.
• Contribute ideas during ideation, including by analysing trends that colleagues bring to you.
• Keep up with new ways to track online conversation and with developments in digital media, culture and emerging platforms.
• Report on performance by turning data into a clear story that tells the team what to consider or watch next.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience in a related role.
• A track record in digital or social media of insights that became responsive content or PR-planned ideas.
• Hands-on experience with at least one social listening tool, including measuring sentiment, tracking volume, identifying themes and following emerging topics.
• Experience with at least one major social media management or listening suite, such as Talkwalker, Sprout Social, Hootsuite or Buffer, and a good grasp of its reporting features.
• Broad social media experience across the major platforms: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest.
• A strong sense of what is happening in online culture.
• An understanding of brand audiences and digital media targeting.
• Comfort with the tools used to mine insights and monitor social performance.

Conditions

The anticipated annual base salary is $60,000, $75,000.

Individual pay within that range depends on experience, skills, level of responsibility, internal equity and business needs.
