Description

The company provides analytics, technology and clinical research services to the life sciences sector, linking data, analytics and domain expertise across healthcare.

The Global Health Economics group is a consultancy of about 200 multidisciplinary specialists in health economics, HTA strategy and evidence generation, based in 12 geographies and delivering projects in more than 50 countries.

Clients include large pharmaceutical and biotech companies, public health providers and regulators, who need evidence on safety, efficacy, effectiveness and cost-effectiveness across all therapy and disease areas.

This role sits within the HTA Evidence and Strategy Centre of Excellence and the Value Communications Centre of Excellence, supporting medical writing for health economic and outcomes research (HEOR) and HTA work.

You will write within projects, work with a senior team to co-manage small workstreams and thought leadership initiatives, and support business development through payer-focused work in value communications, HTA strategy and HEOR.

Typical deliverables include EU JCA and NICE, SMC and NCPE dossiers, global value dossiers, payer objection handlers and value stories, literature review protocols, evidence synthesis and modelling reports, and peer-reviewed manuscripts and conference abstracts. Readers include life sciences customers, payers, providers and regulators.

The work is cross-functional and cross-country. You will turn clinical, economic and real-world evidence into value narratives and payer communication strategies that support market access and reimbursement.

Responsibilities

  • Independently write high-quality content for GVDs and HTA dossiers (JCA, NICE and/or G-BA), HEOR study reports such as SLRs, NMAs, ITCs, models and secondary database research, manuscripts, abstracts, and payer materials like objection handlers and value propositions, with minimal input from the project manager.
  • Work with senior colleagues to co-manage small projects, workstreams and thought leadership initiatives, including guiding junior writers, first-reviewing their drafts and handling client contact.
  • Perform quality control on HEOR documents and keep audit trails of changes.
  • Coach and train less experienced medical writers, and contribute to training that raises team skills and quality standards.
  • Support the Centres of Excellence with their initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary, geographically spread teams.
  • Manage your own time and workload to meet project needs, communicating clearly with project managers, your line manager and your resource manager so utilisation and compliance targets are met.

Requirements

  • Extensive medical writing experience in HEOR, HTA and payer materials.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a strategic outlook that lets you spot likely issues and propose fixes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Fluent conversational and business English, with clear written and verbal communication, including scientific slide decks, reports and presentations.
  • Ability to understand the matrix structures pharmaceutical clients work within and steer through them toward client goals.
  • Ability to interpret clinical, economic and real-world evidence and turn it into value narratives and payer communication strategies.
  • Motivation, a genuine interest in healthcare, strong organisation, and expertise in payer-focused medical writing.
  • A degree in life sciences or a related field, epidemiology, or health economics and policy; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • About 5 years of medical writing across several therapy areas, including at least 3 years in HEOR or HTA, with direct work on GVDs or benchmark HTA submissions such as NICE or G-BA dossiers, peer-reviewed papers, and HEOR reports or protocols.
  • Experience running or coordinating GVD or benchmark HTA deliveries, or parts of them.
  • Understanding of health economics and HTA processes; familiarity with JCA, NICE or G-BA is ideal.
  • Strong written and verbal English and solid knowledge of scientific writing standards.
  • Ability to produce high-quality content with little guidance from a senior lead.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, expert in Word, and close attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and quick to learn, able to work independently with guidance when needed.
  • Good time management and organisation, and comfort adapting when workloads change quickly.
