Description

The company has operated in pet e-commerce for over 25 years and serves more than 12 million customers.

This role grows organic visibility across the company's European markets by creating useful, relevant content that pet owners find through traditional search engines and, more and more, through AI and LLM-powered search tools. Open to all genders.

You will spot content opportunities from search demand, user intent and market trends, applying SEO and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) practices. You own content projects from start to finish and work with internal teams and external partners to produce locally relevant content.

This is an individual contributor role. You manage content projects and external partners but have no direct reports.

Within 6 to 12 months, you will have built a structured pipeline of content opportunities based on search demand, intent and market relevance, and delivered new and improved content in priority European markets. You will have raised the organic visibility of priority content in traditional and AI-powered search, set up a clear process for researching, briefing, publishing, measuring and improving SEO/GEO content, and turned performance data into prioritised recommendations. You will also have built working relationships across teams and set up efficient delivery with agencies, freelancers and translation partners.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver SEO and GEO content projects across the shop ecosystem, covering research, briefing, publication, performance review and optimisation.
  • Create clear content briefs and check that published content is accurate, on-brand, locally relevant and matched to search intent.
  • Build content plans around topic clusters, search volume, user intent, pet-care and product trends, and seasonality.
  • Run keyword, topic and competitor research to find content opportunities across European markets.
  • Improve existing content and on-page elements on the e-commerce site, such as page titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links and structured content, for both traditional and AI-powered search.
  • Track content performance, organic visibility and visibility in LLM-powered search, and turn the findings into concrete improvements.
  • Work with SEO, Product and Technology teams on site structure, page templates and other technical needs that affect content results.
  • Manage content agencies, freelancers and translation partners, while coordinating with Editorial, Category Management, Brand, Social Media, Video and local market teams.

Requirements

  • At least 2 to 3 years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in e-commerce, an in-house SEO team or an agency.
  • Strong experience in SEO content strategy, keyword and topic research, content briefing and on-page optimisation.
  • Experience planning and delivering content projects from research through to publication and performance review.
  • Hands-on use of SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs and Screaming Frog, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience with a content management system such as Contentful, WordPress or similar.
  • A working understanding of technical and off-page SEO and how they affect content performance.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn performance data into clear optimisation steps.
  • Strong project management and organisation skills, including experience coordinating agencies, freelancers or content partners.
  • Native or bilingual German or French at C2 level, plus professional written and spoken English.
  • Nice-to-have: Practical experience with GEO, AI search or tracking content visibility in LLM-powered search.
  • Nice-to-have: Understanding of how LLMs and AI search systems find, evaluate and cite online content.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience in e-commerce or across several European markets.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience optimising content for YouTube, Instagram or TikTok.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience working with localisation or translation partners.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of another European language.
  • Nice-to-have: An interest in pets and the pet-care industry.
