Embedded Software Developer (IoT)

The company builds connected smart home and lifestyle products, combining embedded hardware, automation and a smooth user experience for consumers worldwide.

This remote, full-time role is on the Curated House System, a smart beverage platform with a touchscreen interface, beverage dispensing control, face recognition, secure OTA updates and several hardware peripherals and sensors. You will work on real-time firmware, touchscreens, networking and computer vision, with a distributed team and a customer-facing side.

The role is at middle level and is hosted by the company.

Responsibilities

• Build embedded software components and hardware drivers for displays, cameras, sensors and actuators.
• Write the beverage dispensing logic covering temperature control, pumps, valves and safety mechanisms.
• Build and maintain secure OTA firmware updates over HTTPS.
• Develop and tune embedded graphical interfaces for LCD touchscreens.
• Write clean, maintainable, efficient C/C++ code.
• Debug firmware and find root causes on embedded hardware.
• Write and keep up technical documentation.
• Run unit and integration tests on real devices.
• Help QA engineers with validation and troubleshooting.
• Take part in sprint planning, estimation and customer communication.
• Work with architects, security specialists and compliance engineers.
• Follow engineering best practices and quality standards.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of commercial embedded C/C++ development experience.
• Strong experience with STM32 and ARM Cortex-M.
• Familiarity with NXP, TI or Silicon Labs embedded platforms.
• Hands-on use of UART, I2C, SPI and Wi-Fi.
• Solid grasp of MQTT, DNS, DHCP, mDNS, TCP/IP and UDP.
• Experience with FreeRTOS or Zephyr RTOS.
• Experience with secure boot, OTA updates, checksums and firmware validation.
• Experience with bootloader development and firmware update support.
• Understanding of cybersecurity for IoT and embedded systems.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills on real hardware.
• Upper-Intermediate English or higher.
• Nice to have: experience with camera integration, image capture, processing or streaming.
• Nice to have: experience with face recognition or embedded vision SDKs.
• Nice to have: experience with FatFS or LittleFS embedded file systems.
• Nice to have: experience with the lwIP networking stack.
• Nice to have: background in fluidics control, including pumps, flow sensors or pressure sensors.
• Nice to have: experience with FPGA or ASIC-based systems.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Able to work independently and take initiative in distributed teams.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail and a focus on engineering quality.
• Able to balance low-level hardware work with system-level thinking.
