Description

The role is about building a steady, reliable way to run product delivery, linking how direction is set, how work is scheduled, how it ships and how it goes live.

As a director of product and engineering operations, you act as a neutral facilitator between product, engineering and business teams. You set up a dependable rhythm for planning and execution, track delivery, handle risks and dependencies across teams, and improve how teams work so that value reaches customers throughout the product life cycle.

The job suits someone who combines operational discipline, real technical understanding and good judgment in a complex product environment.

Responsibilities

  • Run quarterly planning and release cycles across the portfolio so teams agree on priorities, capacity and decision dates.
  • Spot, track and resolve cross-team dependencies, risks and blockers before they threaten delivery dates.
  • Work with Product, Engineering, Architecture and GTM leaders to weigh tradeoffs, order the work and shape roadmap priorities.
  • Set team rituals, documentation standards and automated tooling and reporting that reduce manual effort and create shared practices.
  • Turn customer signals, product metrics and delivery health data into reporting that guides ongoing improvement.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in product operations, technical program management, delivery leadership or a closely related technology role.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • Proven experience running planning and release cycles across several teams or value streams, for example as a Release Train Engineer, with solid knowledge of Agile delivery and launch operations.
  • Track record of managing complex dependencies, capacity planning, delivery risks and cross-functional expectations.
  • Strong analytical skills, using delivery metrics and dashboards to solve problems, streamline workflows and improve operating models.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills, with a record of influencing product, engineering and business partners without formal authority.
  • Strong interest in data science and analytics tools.
  • Fluent English.
  • German and relevant Agile or PMP certifications (a plus).

Conditions

Senior Director level role reporting directly to the VP Product.

Starts as an individual contributor role, with the option to move into people leadership as R&D capacity grows.

Until then, influence comes from the operating model, reporting and cadence you own rather than from managing people.

Acts as the operational counterpart to both the VP Product and the VP Engineering across the product portfolio.
