This is a part-time contract role in the Product department, reporting to the Senior Product Manager.
Responsibilities
Review and improve AI-generated release documentation so it is technically accurate for the Solutions products.
Refine integration guides and tutorials. Check AI-drafted how-to guides against the facts by meeting regularly with product owners, engineers and subject matter experts, and use OpenAPI specs so the content suits developers fully.
Keep the changelog current by editing AI-written customer release notes so they clearly explain what changed, who is affected and the main benefits.
Cover for the lead technical writer, keeping key operational processes running, answering stakeholder questions and staffing Solutions office hours.
Requirements
At least 2 years of technical writing experience, or a strong interest in the field.
Working knowledge of REST API request and response payloads, status codes and error responses.
Basic working knowledge of Git workflows, including branching, committing and pull requests.
Fluent in Markdown and willing to learn MDX components.
Precise: you use consistent terminology, correct field names and never document behavior that does not exist.
A proven record of interviewing engineers and turning what they tell you into accurate, current documentation.
Able to manage your own work in a part-time, remote role that is mostly asynchronous.
Helpful, but not required: experience in a technical support, QA or engineering role.
Conditions
Part-time contract role of 20 hours per week, classified as non-exempt under the FLSA.
Remote work with mostly asynchronous collaboration.
You will work in a docs-as-code setup to keep technical and product documentation accurate as the Solutions and Platform change, and you will own Solutions documentation hands-on on a supportive, collaborative team.
