Description

The company makes phone-centric identity tokenization and passive cryptographic authentication. These tools cut friction, improve security and privacy across digital channels, and lower fraud losses and operating costs for businesses.

Over 1,000 enterprise customers run about 20 billion customer requests a year through the platform, across banking, lending, healthcare, gaming, crypto, e-commerce, marketplaces and payments.

You will join the Identity Graph & Identity Manager team as a Senior Software Engineer in Technology, reporting to a Senior Manager, Engineering. The company wants people who work independently, learn quickly, make sound decisions and stay curious and persistent. Teamwork matters, and the team works together and socially.

The role is hands-on. You will build a fault-tolerant, scalable platform with modern technologies, working with other engineers and product managers to ship features that customers value. The team primarily uses Go and/or Java.

Responsibilities

  • Write clean, maintainable code and clear technical documentation, and promote solid engineering practice on the team.
  • Design and build microservices in a distributed, cloud-native architecture.
  • Investigate, debug and fix production issues. Take part in technical design discussions, writing and reviewing RFCs for new solutions.
  • Mentor colleagues, review code and help make technical decisions. Own features from design and RFC through to build and ongoing maintenance.
  • Take part in the "Owner/Helper" project model: lead major milestones as owner and help teammates with their own initiatives.
  • Join the team's on-call rotation to keep systems stable and reliable.

Requirements

  • Have 6+ years of professional software development experience and a solid grasp of object-oriented programming. Java experience is strongly preferred.
  • Have designed event-driven, robust and scalable systems for complex problems.
  • Have hands-on work with a public cloud platform such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
  • Be proficient in SQL (Postgres) and NoSQL (DynamoDB), and understand how to design for both.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, a quantitative field, or have equivalent practical experience.
  • Stay curious and keep building your technical and domain knowledge.
  • Preferred: practical experience with Kafka and Flink.
  • Preferred: a record of shaping team direction and long-term architecture.
  • Preferred: ability to build automated test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Preferred: familiarity with AI and machine learning integrations.

Conditions

The anticipated base salary is $190,000-210,000 in Metro 2 and $170,000-190,000 in Metro 3, plus a company bonus.

Offers are set by education, experience, knowledge, skills, location and abilities, weighed against internal equity and market data.

Pay follows a market-based approach tied to location, so offers are aligned to where you live. Ask your recruiter about any questions.

Metro 2 covers the NYC, Seattle, Los Angeles and Miami metro areas. Metro 3 covers all other US cities except the San Francisco Bay Area.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants who do not match every listed qualification.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary, a bonus plan for eligible roles, and an equity plan.
  • Modern Health support for financial, mental and physical wellbeing.
  • 401(k) with company match for US offices, and local pension arrangements for international offices.
  • Unlimited vacation and flexible hours.
  • Comprehensive medical cover for you and your family.
  • Access to wellness services through an employee assistance program and a wellbeing reimbursement.
  • Unlimited snacks and drinks at certain office locations.
  • A daily GrubHub lunch stipend when working from the office (US offices).
