Senior AI Platform Governance Engineer

Description

The company is a large media and entertainment business with film, TV, streaming, news, sports and theme park operations. This role sets the governance for how its AI products are controlled, secured, monitored and put into production across those businesses.

The aim is to let AI scale across the company in a safe and responsible way.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain semantic models in Snowflake and Databricks so AI systems draw on agreed business definitions.
• Work with data owners and engineers to set governed metrics, entities, lineage and access patterns.
• Create CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code for AI applications, agents, semantic models and ML workloads.
• Set up deployment patterns that repeat reliably across development, staging and production.
• Build monitoring for latency, quality, reliability, model usage and overall AI health.
• Write standards for auditability, compliance and responsible AI use.
• Tune AI infrastructure use and manage cloud spend across Snowflake, Databricks and related services.
• Track model, agent and inference costs so AI growth stays sustainable.
• Design governance for models, agents, tools, datasets and APIs.
• Put RBAC, identity controls and policy enforcement in place across AI platforms.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in data or cloud platform engineering.
• Skilled in Python, advanced SQL on Snowflake, AWS, semantic modelling and Git.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex or Databricks Genie or Agent Bricks.
• Understanding of how AI frameworks such as LangGraph, MCP and RAG work.
• Terraform and infrastructure as code for cloud AI environments.
• Security and identity work covering RBAC, IAM policies and Azure AD.
• AI FinOps skills: cloud cost allocation, tagging and optimization.
• Docker and Kubernetes for containerized model serving and orchestration.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Desired: 5+ years on Snowflake, with SnowPro Core or Advanced certification preferred.
• Desired: 5+ years with Databricks or Apache Spark.
• Desired: 3+ years owning MLOps or AIOps pipelines.
• Desired: 3+ years with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Terraform and dbt.
• Desired: 1+ years integrating LLM or generative AI platforms.

Conditions

Fully remote, meaning the role is expected to be done from a non-company location, most often the employee's home.

Salary range $115,000 to $145,000.
