Description

The company automates and simplifies the day-to-day work of auditors and assurance practitioners in cybersecurity, privacy and financial audit, making trust easier to establish between businesses in global commerce and capital markets.

Based in San Francisco, the company is backed by Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, Floodgate, Y Combinator and others. More than half of the top 100 accounting and consulting firms rely on it for critical client work.

This role leads the platform engineering team that builds core services, APIs, shared building blocks and developer tooling. Every product surface and AI agent runs on this platform, so the team's work determines how quickly new features reach large enterprise customers without sacrificing reliability or scale.

You will manage ten engineers, including Senior and Staff individual contributors. You will set the roadmap and work with product, design, AI and infrastructure leaders to choose where platform effort pays off most.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, onboard, coach and manage the performance and growth of a high-performing platform team.
  • Decide the platform direction and plan, weighing investment across core services, shared primitives and internal developer tooling based on customer and engineering needs.
  • Own architecture for shipping product features across SaaS, single-tenant enterprise and government-cloud environments, working with Staff engineers and tech leads on major decisions.
  • Work with product, design and AI engineering leaders to turn customer needs into platform work and decide what to build, what to leave to product teams and what to buy.
  • Lead cross-team efforts that speed up product delivery, improve reliability and keep the application consistent.
  • Set standards for service design, data modeling and integration patterns, and make sure teams follow them.
  • Oversee the internal developer platform, including deployment tooling and agentic engineering capabilities.
  • Keep the team operationally healthy: reliability targets, incident response, on-call rotation and predictable delivery.
  • Define success metrics for the team and report progress and tradeoffs to executive leadership.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineers, ideally managers or several teams.
  • Hands-on experience building product-facing platforms or core application services, with enough depth to review designs, question tradeoffs and earn Staff engineers' respect.
  • A record of hiring, growing and keeping strong engineers and raising standards through coaching and performance management.
  • Strong product sense and a history of shipping platform capabilities that delivered real customer results.
  • Experience setting technical strategy and roadmap across several teams and aligning product, design and executive stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of modern cloud platforms (AWS preferred), Kubernetes and distributed systems.
  • Sound judgment on what belongs in the platform, what product teams should own and what to buy.
  • Clear written and spoken communication.
  • Bonus: experience leading teams that build platforms for AI-native products, such as agent frameworks, model orchestration or LLM-powered application surfaces.
  • Bonus: experience with platforms that serve both multi-tenant SaaS and single-tenant enterprise deployments.
  • Bonus: experience as a founding or early platform leader at a vertical SaaS or enterprise AI company.
