Description

You will work as a Product Manager on the privacy products team, helping make sure the company's products and services meet global data privacy regulations and best practices across its global streaming platform.

The dormancy product identifies dormant accounts and starts deletion across operational systems. You will own it, set its roadmap, and grow it as deletion needs expand, while also shaping how it fits into the company's end-to-end data deletion approach.

You will work with Product, Legal, Compliance and business stakeholders to set priorities, manage delivery, improve reporting, and keep the team aligned with changing business needs for data deletion.

Responsibilities

  • Set the vision, strategy and roadmap for the dormancy product and keep them current.
  • Find improvements such as automation, reporting and deletion orchestration across the wider data ecosystem, aiming for consistent maturity across business propositions.
  • Work with Legal, Compliance and Data Governance to create and maintain deletion policies, dormancy rules and retention requirements.
  • Write requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria for new capabilities and changes.
  • Work with engineering, architecture and programme teams to deliver roadmap commitments.
  • Own the full product backlog and decide its priorities.
  • Rank enhancements by regulatory need, risk reduction, operational efficiency and business value.
  • Move the dormancy product from a deletion engine toward a scalable enterprise data lifecycle management capability, and make sure it integrates well with related privacy capabilities.
  • Be the product expert on dormancy deletion requirements and controls.
  • Support audits, regulator questions and compliance reviews that cover deletion processes.
  • Keep stakeholders informed about progress, risks, blockers and key decisions, and build trusted relationships across functions.

Requirements

  • Experience in data protection, product management or a related field.
  • Knowledge of global privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, and of industry-specific standards.
  • Hands-on technical experience with software management tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Experience handling compliance matters, such as privacy and security standards and consumer protection risks.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing data governance frameworks and controls in cloud environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Data Science, Law, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Desired: experience with consumer data, preferably at a large media organization.
  • Desired: a Master's degree or a privacy certification such as CIPP or CIPM.
  • Desired: strong analytical skills to read complex privacy regulations and apply them to product development.
  • Desired: clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Desired: attention to detail and strong organization and project management skills.
  • Desired: the ability to work alone and with a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Desired: understanding of data privacy principles, privacy-by-design and privacy engineering.
  • Desired: familiarity with product development lifecycles and agile methods.
  • Desired: experience turning business needs into product requirements with stakeholders and partner teams.
  • Desired: strong written and verbal communication.
  • Desired: comfort working through ambiguity and managing several workstreams at once.
  • Desired: adaptability and quick learning.
