Technical presales consultant

Description

The role is a technical presales position for a certified engineer with deep knowledge of one or more vendors and technologies in a business unit.

You will work mainly with the partner base and the sales organisation to define solutions and projects, both inside and outside the company.

Responsibilities

• Help design vendor solutions that fit customer requirements.
• Deliver high-quality service and meet the customer service level agreements (SLAs) set for your work.
• Build accurate bills of materials on time using internal and vendor tools, for resellers, their customers and other sales teams.
• Own the Request Manager resolver group assigned to you.
• Answer queries and customer care issues quickly.
• Explain product and technology information to internal and external audiences.
• Handle product and solution questions from internal and external sales teams and resellers.
• Work with sales teams to map out repeatable solutions for stock and inventory planning.
• Understand and apply vendor promotions.
• Keep peer-level technical contacts at your assigned vendor.
• Build your technical knowledge to the level required for your product or technology group, and earn any vendor accreditations needed.
• Support the Business Solution Centre (BSC) in sales activity and in raising partner utilisation rates.
• Have the chance to deliver basic post-sales implementation services.
• Grow your product knowledge to a competent technical level in line with vendor and business expectations.

Requirements

• Certification in one or more vendors.
• Polished, professional delivery of customer presentations.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Clear oral and written communication.
• Strong attention to detail, priority management and planning.
• Good business skills and the ability to run professional meetings and business engagements.
• Knowledge of the IT industry, including channel, vendors, competition and end users, is desirable but not mandatory, depending on the seniority of the role.
