Description

The company is a Fortune 500 infrastructure consulting firm with $16.1 billion in Professional Services revenue in fiscal year 2025, and a team of over 50,000 planners, designers, engineers and project managers.

You will join the data centre team to lead design and delivery of hyperscale, colocation and enterprise data centre projects across Europe. The role covers managing technical quality and keeping client relationships strong.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role. Projects are high profile, move quickly and serve global clients, and there is room to progress your career.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate design disciplines across the UK&I and Europe, including architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, fire protection, ICT and BMS/EPMS.
  • Take charge of every stage of a data centre project, from site due diligence and campus planning through concept, schematic and detailed design to construction documents.
  • Make sure design outputs are high quality, meet client needs and are delivered on time.
  • Spot project risks early and resolve them with practical, inventive solutions.
  • Support the wider Sector and Commercial teams on commercial and contract governance, compliance and risk.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, working alongside the client CAM.
  • Present to clients and stakeholders with high-quality, timely output.
  • Work with design and local delivery teams to keep projects localised and compliant with permitting.
  • Reply to client requests promptly.

Requirements

  • Hold chartered status as an engineer or architect, or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Bring extensive experience in data centre design, project management or both.
  • Have a proven record of leading multi-disciplinary teams on complex data centre work.
  • Understand permitting, building systems, regulations and construction methods well.
  • Manage several projects at once and hit tight deadlines in a fast-changing setting.
  • Be willing to travel when needed.
  • Communicate clearly, build good working relationships and present well.
  • Preferred: a degree in architecture, mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer or Accredited Tier Professional status.
  • Preferred: working knowledge of Revit and digital design workflows.
  • Preferred: a clear work history and evidence of ongoing professional development.

Conditions

Expect regular travel across the UK&I and European offices.

Work can be done from an office, remotely or at a client site, under a hybrid model.

All new hires must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an office as a condition of employment.

Equal opportunity applies. Disabled applicants, or those with a long-term condition, who meet the essential criteria will be offered an interview under the Disability Confident scheme.

Benefits

  • Access to industry-leading technology and thinking.
  • Work with significant impact on large projects.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • A wide range of pay, benefit and well-being programmes for employees and their families.
  • Membership of a global, publicly traded firm.
