Description

The company is a venture-backed defense aviation firm that builds the fastest aircraft available today, using rapid prototyping and frequent hardware iteration to produce high-speed systems quickly.

It works with the Department of War to supply high-speed capabilities for the United States and its allies.

This is a contract role supporting the creative team, with a focus on visual direction, storytelling and brand content for PR, editorial and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Set and update the visual and tonal standards so every brand touchpoint looks and sounds consistent.
• Develop storytelling approaches and draft brand content aimed at PR and editorial channels.
• Work closely with executive leadership to design, produce and refine important executive materials.
• Concept and lead the full development of high-quality still and motion creative for paid and organic marketing.
• Coordinate external agencies, creative partners and freelancers on larger projects.
• Take projects from first idea through final delivery, creating the work yourself as well as directing it.

Requirements

• Professional experience as an Art Director, Designer or in a similar creative role, with both strategic and hands-on skills.
• A strong portfolio that shows conceptual thinking, typography, layout and brand identity work.
• Expert command of standard design software.
• Clear communication, including explaining your creative reasoning and responding well to feedback.
• Dependable availability of about two days per week for the contract.

Conditions

Contract role of approximately two days per week, scheduled as 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Contract length is 3 to 6 months.

Pay is set by role scope, experience, education and training, key skills, market data and business needs, so the posted range is only a guide.

Access to export-controlled information and items requires you to be a U.S. person under 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing. U.S. persons include citizens, nationals, lawful permanent residents, and asylees and refugees whose status has been granted, not pending.
