Description

The company is building next-generation EV charging and V2X solutions, and this role sits within its Embedded Application System Engineering (EAS) team.

The work turns product requirements into system architectures, functional designs, simulation environments, and testable hardware and software requirements, using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

You will work with engineering, product, validation, UX, and program teams on reliable, customer-focused features for the connected vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Build the product taxonomy by breaking product targets down into features, systems, solutions, and API capabilities.
  • Define feature, system, and solution requirements, interfaces, states, and performance targets for infotainment, mechatronics, compute, and other domain systems.
  • Model functions and their links using MBSE, including use case diagrams, activity diagrams, and API connections.
  • Support the Quad (System, Solution, Product, Architecture) work on requirements, architecture, and FMEA at each level of decomposition.
  • Help decompose and allocate product, feature, and system functions to software and platform teams.
  • Work with software engineering, validation, UX, mobile, vehicle platform, infrastructure, and Cloud Services partners.
  • Manage change control, architecture allocation, and partitioning for optimization.
  • Help triage issues, handle PRTS reports, and perform root-cause analysis and resolution during development and testing.
  • Write system deliverables, keep requirement traceability current, and support program milestones and readiness reviews.
  • Technically lead a group of systems engineers.
  • Play a central role in defining the co-simulation environments built for each product.
  • Represent the systems team on architecture review boards for major architecture decisions on the VIP and SDV platforms.
  • Lead several complex cross-functional initiatives that improve traceability, efficiency, and performance across the EAS team and the wider organization.

Requirements

  • Required: strong knowledge of systems and software architecture, embedded software development, and testing methods.
  • Required: 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, embedded software, infotainment, mechatronics, or a related automotive or control systems domain.
  • Required: a bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, software, or mechatronics engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred: a master's degree in systems, software, hardware, electronics, or a similar field.
  • Preferred: experience with requirements tools such as DOORS/DNG, Confluence, and Rhapsody.
  • Preferred: experience using agentic workflows and AI to optimize processes and solve systems engineering problems.
  • Preferred: a strong record of analyzing unusual, complex issues and delivering results in an ambiguous environment.
  • Preferred: experience with Agile or SAFe development.
  • Preferred: experience with CI/CD automation and continuous testing strategies.
  • Preferred: experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
  • Preferred: strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges.
  • Preferred: strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across global teams and functions.
  • Preferred: strong organizational agility and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional settings.
  • Preferred: proven leadership and the ability to influence people at all levels of a large organization.
  • Preferred: strong project management skills, including planning, prioritizing, and delivering on time and with quality.
  • Preferred: excellent written and verbal communication skills.
