Expert Linux Administrator - 2nd/3rd Level (m/f/d)

This role combines day-to-day second-level Linux operations with third-level technical ownership, keeping Linux environments stable, secure and fast while solving complex problems and pushing automation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Handle incidents, service requests and changes on RHEL-based and Debian systems, including escalations, root-cause analysis and problem management.
• Watch systems in Zabbix, work through alerts and performance problems, and lead performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Roll out Linux on Azure, vSphere and Proxmox, and build automation with Terraform, Packer, Puppet, Ansible and Git.
• Run system lifecycle work, patching and upgrades, and maintain and improve Red Hat Satellite.
• Administer Linux services, storage, networking, access and AD integration, and help harden systems and manage certificates.
• Run and improve Linux-based services such as NFS, Samba, Apache/nginx, Postfix, Docker, Proxmox/Ceph, DNS, phpIPAM and GitLab.
• Manage backup and restore with Veeam, and help shape, test and document disaster-recovery plans.

Requirements

• Several years administering RHEL-based and Debian Linux systems in enterprise settings, including hard troubleshooting.
• Solid Linux skills across system services, storage, networking, file services and performance.
• Hands-on experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code using Git, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Packer and Bash.
• Working knowledge of Linux security and integration, ideally AD integration, SELinux, SSH and PKI/certificates.
• Structured, analytical problem-solving, plus experience with ITIL-based support processes and Linux lifecycle management.
• Experience with Azure, vSphere, Proxmox/Ceph, Zabbix, Veeam or Red Hat Satellite is an advantage.
• Linux certifications are welcome.
• A hands-on, collaborative approach, reliable documentation habits and very good English.
