DevOps Lead with Telco experience

Description

Applications management covers the full life of software applications, from deploying and monitoring them to maintaining and improving them so they meet business needs.

This role sits on a strategic telecommunications account and involves working with colleagues in Romania and across the wider company.

You will lead technically, make sound calls when situations are complex or unclear, and own the technical outcomes that matter most.

The company consults and partners with major brands across industries to build platforms and digital experiences, and has done so for over two decades.

Responsibilities

• Guide the wider team on technical matters.
• Coach team members to keep learning and raise technical standards.
• Plan and build network, security and cloud infrastructure.
• Provision, configure and fix large-scale RAN platforms.
• Build and run test environments and lab IT services.
• Write and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure as code, using Terraform among other tools.
• Keep operations stable, resolve incidents and keep environments reliable.
• Handle ticket-driven support for infrastructure and test-tool faults.
• Run test environment pooling and verify clusters on large systems.
• Track system performance and introduce changes that improve efficiency and cut running costs.
• Ensure security and compliance across infrastructure and cloud environments.
• Plan capacity and allocate resources so infrastructure is used well.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders and vendors, keeping service delivery and escalation paths working.
• Write up infrastructure configurations, processes and runbooks so knowledge is kept and passed on.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional work in telecommunications.
• At least 3 years of recent, hands-on work provisioning, integrating and fixing large-scale RAN platforms.
• Solid grasp of networking, including IP protocols, routing and firewall design.
• Advanced Linux administration skills, covering system commands and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Thorough knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Substantial understanding of digital signal processing principles and their uses.
• Proven hands-on work with radio emulators such as DICE, C1, L1BP, C2RS/MIB and CTX.
• Verified experience validating clusters on large-scale systems.
• Established experience designing and running cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code, Terraform specifically.
• Advanced Kubernetes skills for orchestration and management.
• Strong at solving complex problems and troubleshooting methodically.
• Ability to explain technical ideas clearly and work across multidisciplinary teams.
