Sr UX Researcher I

The team is looking for a senior UX researcher to lead user research and set the research strategy for a business area or product line.

Responsibilities

• Lead the user-centred research process, using a range of UX research techniques and mentoring junior researchers as needed.
• Plan and run in-person research sessions, including one-to-ones, focus groups and workshops.
• Stay closely connected with UX designers, product managers, engineers, data scientists and other partners so user feedback and testing shape design and product development.
• Collect and assess customer use cases, covering market segments, competitors and the regulatory environment.
• Present research findings to stakeholders and analyse results together with the team to recommend solutions.
• Work with designers, product managers and engineers to iterate on and test solutions.
• Use data, analytics and customer insight to set key metrics, guide the testing strategy and spot where more data is needed.
• Write research documentation and analysis, and share findings across the organisation.

Requirements

• Strong skills in facilitating research sessions, including one-to-ones, focus groups and workshops.
• Expert knowledge of a range of research and testing methods.
• Ability to spot and analyse problems, ask pointed questions, gather facts from several sources and propose solutions.
• Ability to use data, analytics and customer insight to shape research and testing strategy.
• Understanding of how research differs across remote, in-person, unmoderated and moderated settings.
• Expert-level use of research tools such as Qualtrics and Miro, plus AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with UX design, product, engineering, data science and other teams.
• Ability to mentor junior researchers on both research and technical skills.
