Business Technology (BT) is seeking a Director of BT Change Enablement and User Experience (UX) to lead the strategy and execution of change management and user experience practices across the organization's technology initiatives. This leader will unify change enablement and user experience into a single, cohesive function, ensuring that every technology investment is evaluated and delivered through the lens of the end-to-end Workmate experience — from how a change is communicated and adopted, to how intuitive and effective the resulting tools feel to use every day.

This is a high-visibility leadership role that sits at the intersection of technology delivery, organizational change management, and user-centered design — driving how the company enables its workforce to successfully adopt new systems, processes, and digital experiences.

About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Unified Change Enablement & UX Leadership
  • Lead change enablement and user experience as one integrated function, rather than parallel disciplines, ensuring consistent strategy, governance, and prioritization across both
  • Own the end-to-end Workmate experience perspective for all major BT-led technology programs — treating adoption readiness and usability as two sides of the same outcome, not separate workstreams
  • Establish a shared operating model, roadmap, and success metrics that connect change management milestones with UX quality and satisfaction indicators
  • Ensure decisions in one discipline (e.g., a rollout timeline or communication plan) are made with full visibility into the other (e.g., usability testing results or design readiness)
  • Change Enablement Strategy & Execution
  • Partner with program and project leaders to assess change impacts, build stakeholder readiness plans, and drive adoption across the organization
  • Develop and lead communication plans, training strategies, and organizational readiness assessments for large-scale technology rollouts
  • Define and track adoption metrics and success criteria to measure the effectiveness of change initiatives
  • User Experience Leadership
  • Set the vision and standards for user experience (UX) across internal business technology platforms and tools, anchored in a holistic view of the Workmate journey
  • Lead UX research, journey mapping, and usability testing to ensure technology solutions meet the real needs of Workmates
  • Collaborate with product owners, engineering, and design teams to embed user-centered design principles into the technology delivery lifecycle
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement based on Workmate feedback and experience data
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Build, mentor, and lead a combined team of change management and UX professionals operating as a single function
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior BT and business leadership on change readiness, risk, and user experience strategy
  • Partner cross-functionally with HR, Communications, Training, IT, and business unit leaders — including Workmate Experience teams — to align change and UX efforts with broader organizational goals
  • Influence and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups, including senior executives
  • Governance & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish scalable, unified change management and UX methodologies, tools, and playbooks for use across the BT organization
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices in organizational change management and enterprise UX, incorporating them into internal practices
  • Report on program health, adoption outcomes, and Workmate satisfaction to executive stakeholders as a single, connected narrative
  • What Success Looks Like
  • Change enablement and UX operate as one seamless function with shared goals, not siloed efforts
  • Technology programs achieve high user adoption rates and measurable business value post-launch
  • Workmates experience smoother transitions during major system and process changes, paired with intuitive, well-designed tools
  • A mature, unified change and UX practice is embedded across the BT organization, with the overall Workmate experience as its north star

Requirements

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in change management, organizational effectiveness, or user experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Organizational Development, HR, Design, or related); advanced degree a plus
  • Other Qualifications:
  • Proven track record leading change management for large-scale enterprise technology implementations (e.g., ERP, HCM, CRM systems)
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, design thinking, and human-centered design methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to bridge and unify traditionally separate disciplines (e.g., change management and UX) into a cohesive, outcomes-driven function
  • Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams
  • Change management certification (e.g., Prosci, ACMP)
  • Experience with the company or other major enterprise platforms
  • Background in Business Technology, IT, or a shared services/enterprise technology organization
  • Experience establishing a Center of Excellence for change management or UX
  • Familiarity with the Workmate experience ecosystem and how it connects to technology adoption
