Description

The application window is expected to close on 9 Nov 2026.

The company is a global healthcare technology business with about 95,000 employees in more than 150 countries. Its medical devices serve over 72 million patients a year.

This Senior Engineering Manager, Software Development role leads the team that designs, builds, tests and maintains software for the company's cardiac mapping system.

The mapping system builds detailed images of the heart's electrical activity to locate the abnormal areas behind arrhythmias. The ablation system then delivers targeted energy to block those signals and bring back a normal heartbeat.

The ideal candidate has led software teams in a regulated setting and is strong in software architecture, product development, testing and growing people.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a high-performing team that builds core product software.
  • Set the technical direction, development priorities and delivery plans to match product and business goals.
  • Help plan and run release milestones, manage risk, resolve defects and drive continuous improvement.
  • Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, new ideas and engineering quality.
  • Hire, coach, mentor and keep engineering talent.
  • Promote good practice in development, architecture, cybersecurity, testability and documentation.
  • Shape product strategy through technical reviews, roadmap input and trade-off analysis.

Requirements

  • Experience with Python and C++.
  • A bachelor's degree plus at least 7 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in people management.
  • Or an advanced degree plus at least 5 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in people management.
  • Bachelor's degrees earned outside the United States must meet the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).
  • Preferred: experience with embedded software, real-time systems, imaging, mapping or medical device platforms.
  • Preferred: familiarity with software quality processes and regulatory frameworks for medical devices.
  • Preferred: a preference for working with agile development methods.
  • Preferred: prior leadership of platform or product software groups with many contributors and dependencies.
  • Preferred: experience supporting fielded products, sustaining engineering and post-market software issues.
  • The role is office-based: you must be able to move around independently, work at a computer and communicate with peers and coworkers. Physical demands are described in the responsibilities, and reasonable accommodations are available for people with disabilities. Ask your manager or local HR about role-specific conditions.
  • The listed duties describe the general nature and level of the work, not every duty or skill the role may need.

You will be onsite at least 4 days a week to support close, cross-functional collaboration.
