Solution Architect - Air Traffic Management

The team is hiring a Solution Architect for its expanding Air Traffic Management business area. You will be the technical lead on customer projects and make sure delivered solutions meet operational, performance, safety and security needs from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Design and keep up to date the solution architecture for Air Traffic Management projects, matching it to customer needs and technical limits.
• Study customer and operational requirements and turn them into sound, scalable and effective technical solutions.
• Make the main architectural decisions and keep the different system components technically consistent.
• Spot and manage technical risks, assumptions, dependencies and trade-offs across the project lifecycle.
• Work with software, systems, hardware, integration and verification and validation engineers.
• Make sure the work meets applicable safety, security, regulatory and contractual requirements.
• Serve as the main technical contact for customers, project managers and internal stakeholders on architecture questions.
• Support integration, verification, validation, deployment and customer acceptance.
• Help improve existing solutions and propose new technical capabilities.

Requirements

• Experience in Air Traffic Management (ATM), Air Traffic Control (ATC) or other safety-critical sectors such as railway signalling, avionics or energy (highly valued).
• A degree in engineering, computer science or a related technical field.
• Substantial experience in solution architecture, software architecture, systems engineering or technical leadership on complex engineering projects.
• A track record of designing and delivering complex, mission-critical systems.
• A solid grasp of the systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through integration, verification and validation.
• Experience coordinating technical work across multidisciplinary engineering teams and domains.
• The ability to weigh technical trade-offs, manage risk and make well-informed architecture decisions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
