Legacy Application Solution Architect

Description

The company runs and modernizes mission-critical technology systems for some of the world's leading businesses and manages about 50% of the world's MIPS.

You join a global group of mainframe modernization experts who share knowledge openly and work together.

Responsibilities

• Use your knowledge of legacy systems and cloud architecture to find mainframe applications worth modernizing.
• Define, assess and rank modernization roadmaps by cost and risk.
• Design cutting-edge software frameworks, systems and products, and create system interfaces and business application prototypes.
• Find and fix weaknesses in framework designs.
• Lead the application development team technically, run design and code reviews, and keep application design standards consistent across the enterprise.
• Work with stakeholders to keep the architecture aligned with business requirements and the project's goals.
• Create and maintain documentation on software architecture, application design, component integration, testing guidelines and other key areas.

Requirements

• Experience architecting large customer change and transformation projects.
• In-depth knowledge of hardware and software, including how platforms connect to each other.
• Preferred: The Open Group Master Certified Architect certification or an equivalent.
• Preferred: Hands-on experience working in a mainframe environment.
• Preferred: Experience with mainframe projects of the types Modernize On, Integrate With and Move Off.
• Preferred: Strong understanding of z/OS, IBM software products and third-party mainframe software.
