Description

The company helps enterprises connect, protect and analyze their data and applications across edge and cloud environments.

This is a campus and branch specialist role on a team focused on the company's AI-native networking platform, which covers wireless, wired, WAN, network access, location services and cloud operations.

As the platform's technical specialist, you will advise territory managers and systems engineers from first customer contact through adoption, and help win new customers and grow strategic accounts.

Success means customers and internal sales teams see you as the go-to expert for their most important campus and branch opportunities, and that your work helps the platform become the strongest choice for modern campus and branch networks.

Responsibilities

  • Work with account teams to build technical strategies for winning new logos, displacing competitors and expanding existing customers.
  • Join sales cycles early, identify customer technical and business needs, and match platform capabilities to the outcomes they want.
  • Lead discovery sessions, architecture workshops, technical presentations, demonstrations and executive briefings, and turn complex requirements into clear architecture recommendations.
  • Explain technical value to audiences from network engineers and architects to IT leaders, CISOs and CIOs, and position the platform against alternatives.
  • Own demonstrations and proofs of concept from planning to completion, setting objectives, success criteria, test plans, customer duties, timelines and measurable outcomes.
  • Configure, deploy, validate and troubleshoot the platform in customer environments, and document results and reusable best practices.
  • Advise customers before, during and after the sale on architecture, migration, deployment, operations and adoption, and spot technical risks early so the right resources can resolve them.
  • Work with customer success, support, product management and engineering on strategic accounts and escalations.
  • Keep deep, current expertise across the platform's wireless, wired, WAN, access assurance, location services, cloud, automation and AI features, and stay on top of releases, standards and competitor moves.
  • Create and share technical content, design guidance, demos and enablement materials, and coach territory managers, systems engineers, partners and distributors through training and workshops.
  • Support customer events, webinars, seminars, partner sessions and field enablement programs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in systems engineering, sales engineering, solution architecture, technical consulting or a similar enterprise networking role.
  • A record of supporting complex technical sales cycles, demonstrations, architecture workshops and proofs of concept.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise Wi-Fi, including RF fundamentals, standards, site surveys, high-density design, roaming, security and troubleshooting.
  • Strong campus and branch networking skills across Ethernet, VLANs, TCP/IP, Layer 2 and Layer 3 design, routing, switching, multicast, QoS, ACLs, firewalls, segmentation and resiliency.
  • Experience with identity and access technologies such as 802.1X, AAA, RADIUS, EAP methods, certificates, SAML and common client operating systems.
  • Experience designing and supporting large campus, distributed enterprise and branch environments.
  • Hands-on use of wireless design and validation tools such as Ekahau, Hamina, NetAlly or iBwave.
  • Knowing REST APIs, Python, scripting, automation, cloud integrations or Infrastructure as Code is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication.
  • Executive presence and the ability to earn trust from technical staff, business leaders and executives.
  • Strong organization and prioritization, handling several strategic opportunities and customer engagements at once.
  • Self-motivated and collaborative, with a commitment to customer success, technical excellence and team results.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, depending on customer and business needs.
  • Preferred: prior experience with the company's platform, Aruba or another leading enterprise networking platform.
  • Preferred: experience supporting competitive displacement and complex enterprise transformation projects.
  • Preferred: industry certifications such as CWNP/CWNE, JNCIP/JNCIE, CCNP/CCIE, CISSP or equivalent.
