Description

The company works on defense, national security and space technology, taking on hard problems in mission-critical systems from the ground to space.

The role reports to the Systems Engineering Manager in the Strategic Systems Engineering Department.

Responsibilities

  • Define and oversee the site requirements management strategy, including traceability, verification standards and MDA compliance policies that apply to every program tier.
  • Set the overall system architecture direction and govern verification and validation, including functional allocation, interface standards and compliance reporting used across all programs.
  • Lead cross-domain systems engineering by setting integration protocols with propulsion, software, hardware, GNC and test teams so that programs perform coherently and verification closes out.
  • Own the site risk strategy by building risk identification, mitigation and escalation frameworks across programs that inform executive risk decisions.
  • Own the technical baseline across programs, lead formal reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR), and help set change control and configuration management standards.
  • Provide authoritative MBSE leadership, guiding SysML modeling standards, requirements database integration and digital engineering toolchain alignment.
  • Act as the technical liaison with customers and suppliers on requirements flowdown, verification progress and technical issue resolution.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level systems engineers to build knowledge sharing and process maturity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering or a related STEM field with 15 years of systems engineering or related experience, or a Master's degree in a related STEM field with 13 years of experience, or 19 years of systems engineering or related experience in place of a degree, or a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Deep familiarity with MDA processes, CDRL development and systems engineering lifecycle standards.
  • Expert proficiency with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
  • Authoritative knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle standards, including the INCOSE SE Handbook and MIL-STD-499.
  • Significant experience applying MBSE with SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Project.
  • Preferred: working knowledge of DoDAF and UAF architecture frameworks and digital engineering environments.
  • Preferred: demonstrated experience leading Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) analyses at enterprise and program level.
